“Ugh!”, I groaned as I frantically hit the snooze button on my alarm clock. It was seven in the morning. I pulled the covers off me and slowly climbed out of bed. I slipped my feet into my fuzzy slippers and carelessly yawned as I stretched.

I glanced at Bailey’s bed, which was empty. I was about to get up as I heard the bathroom door creak open then slam shut, causing me to startle.
Bailey had just walked out of the bathroom and was the approaching the hairbrush which rested on her dresser, ignoring my presence.
“Good morning!” I said cheerfully.

She startled, probably because she wasn’t expecting me to be up so early.
“We’ll see how great it is once you’re done with the warm up routine.” She said.

God, that was rather mean. I couldn’t help feeling how annoying and pessimistic she was. She couldn’t bear the presence of a positive word without mocking it off rudely.

“Looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed.” I teased as I approached the doorknob of the bathroom door. She paused for a second then turned to me and smirked.

Ignoring her I stepped into the bathroom, shutting the door behind me. I quickly undressed and turned the shower tap on. I let the warm water run through my hair, soothing my skin and removing any traces of weariness from yesterday’s trip.

Once I was done I turned off the shower tap and dried off with a towel. I peeped outside to see if Bailey was there, but she had already left. I stepped out of the bathroom and shut the door.

I changed into a pair of jeans and a black T-shirt. I dried my hair, grabbed my phone and headed for the door. I rushed pass a group of seniors in the corridor and may my way past a group of gossiping girls.

I climbed the stairs, glancing at the vast green grounds, wondering how well-kept and properly maintained they were. My thoughts were interrupted by a sudden jolt, I staggered backwards losing my balance. I swiftly gripped the railing, regaining my balance, preventing myself from crashing.

I analyzed the person I had bumped into, he looked almost as startled as I was, he was probably a year or two older than me. He stared at me in shock with his emerald green eyes. He looked like he had been jogging or something, because he was out of breath and was wearing a navy blue sports uniform.

I immediately cleared my throat and apologized, “I’m so sorry, I wasn’t looking where I was going. Are you okay?”

“Oh! It’s totally fine, I really wasn’t paying much attention myself. I’m Hunter by the way.” He said as he ran his fingers through his hair.

“Pleased to meet you. I’m Natalie.”, I said.

“Are you new here? You look like you’re lost.”, He said with a bit of concern on his face.
