After failing to find a job at three more places, both of them were hungry. It was about 1 pm by that time and mother and child decided to head to a small restaurant, a block away.
Maran had told their Mom about the strange encounter, but she didn't seem to think anything big of it.

When they turned another corner, Maran stopped and pointed in the other direction.

"How about Pizza? That place is new!", they said loudly, a sign of excitement.

Their Mom laughed and replied:"Sure. They might have an open spot."

And she was right. The place was called 'Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria' and was looking for employees.

So, whilst Cecile was waiting for the pizza and watching the children that were playing around a big stage with three robots that were resembling animal-like beings that were singing, Maran was talking to a waitress a bit further away from the stage.

The two set up a time Maran would be able to go and talk to the manager, and as the kid returned to their Mother, they explained:"You can get some dessert later, I'll have an interview at half past two!"

Cecile was as excited as her child, and while they were eating the pizza, they were talking about what the job might be.

Suddenly, Cecile asked:"What are you going to say is your name?"

"Maran", the kid replied.

"And what if they want to see your passport?"

"Then I'll explain why I don't want to be called Jasmina.", the kid said quietly, their voice shaking. They looked down, then whipped their eyes and pulled out the clock.

"I'll better get going", they said,"it's 2:20. Love you Mom!"

"Good Luck Sweetie!", Cecile said and watched Maran walk up to the counter.

Maran met up with the waitress from before. She led them to a small office near the bathrooms and held the door open for them.

"Have fun", she said, smiling widely.

"Thanks", Maran responded and stepped inside.

The room was conquered by a big wooded desk right in the middle. There was a really old guy sitting behind it. He looked up when Maran stepped into the room and smiled.

"Hello there", he said. His voice was deep and very warm. Maran couldn't help but think that he'd make a great dad. His hair was grey, and he was wearing a suit.

"Good afternoon", Maran replied. They couldn't hide the excitement in their voice, but they didn't see the point in doing so anyways.

The man pointed at a chair opposite him and Maran sat down. Then they stood up again and took of the cloak.

"Nice to meet you, my name is Mike", he said.

Maran nodded and replied:"Nice to meet you too, I'm Maran."

Mike smiled and said:"Nathalie said you were looking for a job. In that case, today is probably your lucky day! We are hiring a nightguard."

Maran smiled excitedly and asked:"Every day of the week, right?"

Mike nodded and then asked a question himself:"You go to school right?"

Maran nodded and then said:"Yes I do. But I can do that."

Mike laughed and answered:"Well, if that's the case you can start on Monday."

Maran said 'Thank you' about ten times, then Mike sent her back outside, still laughing.

"Ask Nathalie to give you the uniform, I'll see you on tomorrow at 11 pm."

Maran nooded and promised to be there, then ran to look for Nathalie.

When they returned to their mother, a blue and black bundle of clothing in their hands and a wide grin on their face, Cecile nearly dropped her spoon.

"That was fast! What is the position and when are you starting?", she asked, clearly very happy for their child. But her smile dropped after Marans answer.

"I'm the new nightguard and I start on Monday at exactly Midnight. Everyday!"

Cecile shot up, she looked upset.
"Jasmina, what were you thinking?!", she hissed.

Maran still smiled.
"Mom, wrong name", they said and waved over a random waiter.

"I want an answer Maran", Cecile said, after the waiter went to get the check.

"It's no big deal Mom, I got school under control and so what if I stand up early. I'll just have to go to sleep earlier."

Cecile sighed heavily. Then she said:"Ok. It's your choice, just don't get to overwhelmed. And don't do anything stupid when you're here all alone for hours!"

Maran smiled and promised to behave. Then they paid and left.
