"Jonghyun!" Kibum called my name. I turned around to see him running towards my way.
He stood beside me and bent down to catch his breath.
"The girl you like... I know what's her name." He said as he took a breath after every two words.
"What? What's her name?" I asked him impatiently. "Amelia." He answered.
"How did you know?" I asked him. "She was standing with her friend and after she left I walked up to her friend and asked her what's her name." Kibum answered as he stood up properly.
"I think you should talk to her. If you have a thing for her you should confess before it's too late." Kibum said seriously which was unusual because he was always playful. "I will soon." I said.
. . . . . . . . . .
Weeks passed by and I still didn't speak to her. I just looked at her from far away. I wanted to take to her but anxiety would hit me so I would back away.
One time she was leaving campus by herself. I was debating on whether I should talk to her or let it go. I finally gained the courage and walked towards her.
I walked beside her and she stopped walking and looked at me, I did the same. "Oh hi. You're the same person that helped me stand up about two months ago. Am I right?"
I nodded. "We didn't have the time to introduce ourselves. My name is Jonghyun. I'm majoring in broadcast journalism." I said as I extended my hand out for her to shake. She shook it without hesitating and said "I'm Amelia. I'm majoring in classical music."
I pulled the keychain out of my pocket and said "I think this is yours. You dropped it in the cafeteria the other day." She looked happy. She took the keychain that was placed on my palm and said "Thank you. I've looked for it everywhere." I shook my head.
"Where do you live?" I blurted out. "Down this street." She answered as she pointed. "I'm going that way too." I said. Then we walked towards our destination.
Once we arrived in front of her house she thanked me. "No need to thank me." I said. "Thank for helping me the other day." She said. "Don't worry about it."
After exchanging our goodbyes I left.
'I finally did it. I'm one step closer towards my goal.' I thought to myself. I was happy and proud of myself.. . . . . . . . . .
More weeks passed by and we started hanging out more and more together. We got close and I was planning on asking her out. We kissed a couple of times but I didn't officially asked her to be my girlfriend.
"Jonghyun I need to tell you something." She said timidly. I knew that something was wrong.
We were sitting on a bench near the ocean. "What is it?" I asked.
"I love you. A lot." She said but I knew that she wasn't done yet and she had more to say. "But I'm in a relationship." She said quietly as she looked at her hands that were placed on her lap.
"Then break up with him." I said. She snapped her head looking at me as her eyes widened. "W-what?" She stuttered.
"Why are you shocked?" I asked her. "If you really love me then you would leave him for me. Also I don't think you love him." I added. "Why do you think that I don't love him?" She asked curiously.
"Because if you really loved him you wouldn't fall for anyone else." I answered. "But I can't leave him now." She said. "Why is that?" "Because it's not the right time. I can't just call him and say it's over then leave without an explanation."
"I'll wait. I don't mind. For now I don't need your entire heart. I just want a little bit of your heart ok? Can you empty a small space in your heart for me? That's all I want and that's all I need." I said desperately.
I fell hard for her. I loved her maybe more than I should've but at that time I didn't mind. I thought to myself that I'll take a small space in her heart then I'll take over afterwards. I had high hopes for it to happen.
