"Ali, what happened?"

I gripped my hand till my nails dug into my palms. Ali's face seemed like she just saw a ghost. She gently placed her hand on my shoulder and whispered to me sounding like she was out of breath.

"Your parents got into an accident"

While I was still taking in what she said, Ford and Ali had to discuss what to do behind my back.

"Is it bad?" Ford whispered to Ali
"It sounded bad"
"Do you know where they're at?"
"They said her Dad is at the police station near  here, and her mom is at the hospital"
"Oh god, what do we do?"
"I-"

"Let's go to the police station," I said
I tried not to cry, I tried not to get angry. Penji passed away, and my attempted kiss was interrupted with the news I wasn't expecting. My life couldn't get bad enough.
All I want right now is hope that my parents are okay. All I want is to see them, and embrace them for as long as I can.

"I'll drive"
Ford took my hand
"Let's go"

Ford led us to his car. It was a shiny black Honda that looked new. Ford opened the door for Ali and me, and the car had that new car smell.
"Since when did you get a new car?"
"..that's a secret" he smiled
I sat on the front seat and Ali at the back.

As Ford drove, I peeked at him. There was still a lot I didn't know about him, like how I just noticed how much he bites his bottom lip when he's focused. How strong his jaw is when he looks forward, and how light and silky his hair looked when they go down on the side of his face.
My favorite part would be his rosy cheeks, I always wanted to kiss his cheeks whenever he blushes. Just imagine how warm and soft they feel.

"You look like you're drooling over there"
He noticed me staring at him.
I turned to the opposite way and shrunk myself into the seat.
"I'm not drooling, just so you know"
"I doubt that" I can tell he was smirking just from the sound of his voice.

We arrived at the police station which only took 10 minutes to get to. Ford parked at the side of the police station, it wasn't hard to find a parking spot since there's usually not a lot of people here. It was just full of police cars.

I never thought the bright blue and white police station with some small graffiti of dicks and cuss words on the side would be a place I would fear the most right now.
When I was about to take my seatbelt off, Ford placed his hand on mine. He looked directly at me. He smiled slightly assuring that I'll be okay. I nodded.

"Ali, let's get down?"
...
"Ali?"
Ford and I turned to the sleeping Ali. Her arms were crossed together and her head was leaning on the window. She was drooling so much, it went down to her neck.
I wiped her drool with my handkerchief that I kept in my pocket.
"She's a good person," I said
"She sure is.." Ford replied

I shook Ali's shoulder and woke her a bit.
"Hm.. yeah?" Her voice sounded rough
"We're at the police station now, you can keep sleeping here. we'll be inside if you decide to be with us there."
"No... I'm going.." her eyes were half-open.
"Okay," I said, and she went back to sleep.

Ford and I got out of the car and walked through the automatic door. We went to the desk where we saw a lady wearing a blue police uniform.
"Hello, how may I help you today?" She had a New York accent.
I leaned on the tall desk so that she could hear me better. "We're looking for Mr. and Mrs. Charles" I answered.
"Okay ma'am, let me just check if they're signed in"
She looked at the paper clipped into a clipboard that had a list of people.

My head was clouded, I was worried. I started shaking my leg up and down.
Ford rubbed my back to comfort me.
"Oh" her eyes widened "they're sittin' right over there, ma'am"
She pointed out at the side where all the chairs were at. I saw my Dad... and my mom?

My Dad was watching the tv at the top corner of the wall, and my mom was busy playing a mobile game on her phone.
"DAD! MOM!" I shouted
They both looked at me, and they're face brightened up.
"HAVEN, MY GIRL!" My dad shouted
"HAVEN!!" My mom shouted as well

We ran to each other with open arms and hugged each other as tightly as possible. Ford watched us from behind.
"Oh, Haven. I miss you" My mom said.
I never thought I'd miss seeing her with her everyday red lipstick and the smell of her flowery fragrance.
Also my Dad with his fuzzy dirty blonde beard, and his usual oversized coat.
My dad patted my head.

My parents looked like they were fine, they didn't show signs of injury at all. The police station probably called the wrong number, but why are they here?
"I thought you guys got into an accident?"
"We did, but it wasn't really an accident"
my dad laughed
"Huh?"
I was confused about why my dad was laughing, and my mom smiled like they did something proudly.
"Then what happened?" I asked
"We help lady who was in trouble" my mom answered
"She was pregnant, and someone stole one of her luggages at the airport. Your mother here ran after him and attacked him. He had a knife, so she viciously threw her luggage at him which is why we ended up here"
My dad explained.
"Mom.."
"He not good man, Haven. I did good thing" my mom said defending herself.

I heard Ford trying not to laugh.
"It's not funny"
"I know I know, I'm not laughing" he hid his face with his hand.

They decided to let my parents go and decided that my moms' attack was considered self-defense.

While we were heading to Ford's car, my dad took this opportunity to greet Ford.
"Hey, I'm Haven's father"
"I heard, I'm Ford"
They shook hands.
Thankfully, they were just having a normal conversation, there was nothing about what's happening between Ford and me.

My mom pulled my arm and whispered to me.
"Is he you boyfriend?"

Honestly...
