I asked Ms. Reynolds if I could leave now, and she agreed. As long as I comeback on Monday. So, for the rest of the day, I spent it with Riley, at Starbucks. After ordering our drinks, we sat down and had a little chit chat. Just like the old times.
"So, Natasha. How are you? You were struggling with Physics a while ago, and I just had to say the Geometry thing because I miss arguing with you about academics." he asked.
I chuckled a bit. "Yeah, I did have a hard time with Physics. I can't believe you passed through that shit as easy as boom!" I replied.
"Well, duh! I am Riley McDonough. I could do a lot of stuff! Now, I gotta ask you. You know, all jokes aside. Uhm.. How are you? Emotionally, spiritually, mentally, and physically."
"I'm good Riley. You know, I still don't have brain cancer because of Mathematics or Physics. Don't worry. Also, emotionally? I guess I'm fine. Though there are some days I can't resist the thought of you. How you're doing in college? How's your life?"
"Oh." Riley said quietly.
"So, how about you? How are you, Riley? I suppose you met a girl back to where you attend your college to. Well, even if you did, remember. We're going to stay friends forever. So, you gotta tell me." I told him. Though, I am honestly scared of what will he say.
"Well, I can see through your eyes that you're already hurt even if I haven't said yet, something about my college life. You're probably scared at the fact that I might've found another girl. Am I right?" As much as he is right, I won't let my emotions go through me. He already saw a part of my emotion.
"Shut up, McDonough! Just tell me!" I said with a whiney voice. Oh God! I feel so young.
"Okay! Chill! Well, there were girls who tried hitting on me. I might've liked one of those."
"Oh." With that sudden response from him, I became quiet. "Then what happened?" I said with no emotion or hint of excitement or sadness.
"We got together for a week only. We didn't last long because..." he mumbled something I didn't understand.
"Seriously Riley? The mumble game? Are you kidding me? Why didn't you last long with whoever that girl is? You could've been perfect together!" I said in a higher tone. Riley stood up, and grabbed my wrist and we walked out of Starbucks. Then, he brought me out to the town's plaza which was like across Starbucks. "Riley! What are you doing!?"
"Please stop telling me that I am better with another girl! You know why? Because I'm not. The only girl I feel best is you! I love you Natasha! About a while ago, the reason I said we didn't last long because I keep comparing my relationship with her to my relationship with you, right in her face. I kept telling her how you're better than her. I love you." with that, he cups his hands on my cheeks and kissed me without warning.
I knew I was shocked at first. Which was the reason I didn't kiss back quickly. But I knew that in my heart, I love Riley McDonough. This isn't just any crush or fling, but I do love him, no matter what. After pulling away, I hugged him, and finally the tears who are in the verge of excreting themselves, came out. "Thank you, Riley. I love you. For a moment I thought you were just some random kid in the tutor center, but now you're something more than that."
OH WHAT DO I FEEL? I FELT LIKE I HAVE FULFILLED MY DUTIES. I FEEL SOOOOOOOOOO DONE WITH THIS. WOOH. PART TWO EPILOGUE. WOOH.
