chapter i; ❝your awful sister's here❞‧₊˚✩ 彡
SWELLVIEW was the sort of small town where bad things happened all the time, and every five minutes a new crime was committed. That small town of has three superheroes to defend and protect it from said crime, and other bad guys who might want to hurt Swellview or the people in it.
Emily Mills never questioned it, though. She grew up in Swellview with her older brother, Tyler, and her younger sister, Katherine. She had a mother and father at some point, but they left when Emily was six, leaving Tyler to care for himself and his two younger sisters.
Today was Tuesday, and Emily was sitting at the computer in the Man Cave with Charlotte watching beauty life-hack videos, which so far were at least somewhat useful. Emily scrolled through YouTube and clicked on a video titled, 'Lauren's Money Saving Makeup Tips.'
There was only one chair by the monitors, so Char got half, and Emily got the other half. Jasper was upstairs running the store, Ray and Henry were out as Kid Danger and Captain Man, and Schwoz was nowhere to be found.
If Emily had to take a guess, she would say he'd probably be in his lab creating some new species of mutant creatures or a new disease. Just like the disease Emily, Charlotte, Ray, and Henry and his family had got about a year ago; the one where their fingers turned green as a way of showing what stage of the disease they were on.
Schwoz is a unique man. Admittedly he was pretty funny, but there was something going on in that brain of his. Something sick, and twisted.
"Now, to save money on eyeshadow, I suggest using Paprika." The girl on the video said, rubbing Paprika on her eyelids.
"Doesn't that burn?" Emily asked rhetorically, to which Charlotte just shrugged.
The girl continued to rub Paprika on her eyes. When she finished, she couldn't even open her left eye all the way, for she would get the red spice in it.
"And instead of foundation, which is really expensive, you can use-" The girl reached over her desk and pulled out a tub of dip. "Hummus!"
Emily scrunched up her face in disgust and looked over at Charlotte, who was making a very similar face to her own. I mean, who wouldn't be disgusted by this. Probably Schwoz.
The girl pulled out a tissue and dipped it in the hummus, "Oh! And notice how I'm not using a sponge!" She said, plopping the top heavy tissue on her face with a splat. "This is just a tissue I found." She rubbed the tissue all over her face, and in the process she smeared Paprika down her nose. "In the trash." The girl says. Her voice was shaky, even she wasn't sure putting food on your face as a makeup replacement was a good idea. Or, using dirty tissues to spread said food.
