SIX hours. That's how long Emily had been in the hospital, unable to have any visitors due to her critical condition.

The four were worried and exhausted, to say the least. They were all seated in the waiting room of Swellview Hospital, awaiting a doctor to tell them what's wrong with Emily.

Ray was sitting in the far corner of the room, his leg bouncing up and down nervously as he muttered things like 'she's strong' and 'she'll be fine' to himself.

Jasper sat on the other side of the room next to Charlotte, who had her head resting on Jasper's shoulder as she slept.

And then there was Henry. He was probably the most scared of them all. He was too nervous to sit and think properly. He paced back and forth for what seemed like forever.

A doctor in a white lab coat pushed through the double doors leading to the back, "Ray Manchester?"

Ray's head shot up. His eye bags evident, it was clear he was tired. "Yes?"

She walked over to Ray and handed him a clipboard filled with Emily's information and diagnosis. Although Henry was technically related to Emily, he made sure to stand close enough so he could hear everything.

"Emily... is your daughter, correct?"

Ray nodded, "Yes, that's correct. Is she okay?"

The doctor flipped through the multiple papers on the clipboard, "She will be. As of right now, we have some of our best doctors trying to fix what's wrong with her."

"What is wrong with her exactly?" Ray questioned.

She sighed, pointing to her charts on the paperwork, "Well, the burns are from what looks like acid burns. There will be permanent scarring, especially since it continued to bleed even after previous treatment. However, the coughing of the blood and passing out is from a disease called C.O.P.D."

"That stands for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. It is a chronic inflammatory lung disease that causes obstructed airflow from her lungs."

She stopped talking and looked at Ray's confused face. She laughed lightly and nodded, patting his shoulder, "In easier terms, she is going to be okay. We're just going to keep her for observation overnight to make sure she doesn't show any symptoms for other related diseases."
