A/N: The chapter was supposed to have been published hours ago but I wanted to draw Blaire, which honestly didn't take that long but my software malfunctioned D: So it ended up being a 4 hour deal. Andddd then the chapter wont even publish with the artwork in the header *Seething Rage* So I'm going to publish the chapter anyways with no header (It won't even let me put a gif up there. ) And tomorrow if wattpad wants to act right, there will be art in the header XD ANYWAYS Enjoy the chapter guys, I'm really excited for this book! Let me know what you think <3
                              Blaire
So far, David and Mary-Margaret seemed to be giving me space, which was nice. I Knew it wouldn't last. They seemed to be very involved in Emma's life, and I had a feeling, they'd want to include me too. My parents were involved in their own ways, I knew my parents had to work all the time so I didn't expect them to be at every single Art Show the school had. Sometimes they would sneak in, at the very last minute for the awards, and that was enough for me. I got to spend plenty of time with my dad on the weekends, He was a youth boxing instructor and He'd been teaching me since I was 5 so I spent the weekends with him at his gym. Mom was a nurse so her schedule was much more unpredictable but I never felt like my parents weren't there for me.
Until now.
My mother was missing, and my father was in jail because everyone seemed to think he had something to do with it and ironically, this is when I felt I needed them the most.
I sighed, staring at my phone mentally willing it to ring. My dad was supposed to call me tonight but a couple hours had gone by Emma was already home from playing mini golf and there was still no sign of a phone call. There was a light knocking on my door and I looked at it, wondering if I should pretend to be asleep.
"Blaire?"
It was David. I kept quiet and folded my arms over my desk and rested my chin on them.
"Listen...If you don't want to talk right now that's okay. I Understand. If I were in your shoes, somewhere new with people I didn't know, I'd be hesitant to speak too. I just don't want you to feel like you're alone because you aren't. Your father...he contacted me from jail before you came here. He knew you would be safe here with us and I may not agree with a lot that my brother has done in his life, but I do know that he wouldn't put you somewhere he didn't think you'd be taken care of. I don't know much about you Blaire, but I'd like to. So when you are ready to talk to me, I'll be here." David paused and cleared his throat. "Um..anyways...Goodnight see you in the morning." He added and he waited a few moments for me to respond just in case, before I heard his footsteps going down the hallway.
"Goodnight.." I muttered under my breath. There was no way he heard it, and I didn't even know why I felt the need to say it. I turned back to my phone, watching it. Determined not to miss this call.
                              ----------------------------------------
I opened my eyes, and the first thing I was aware of, was how uncomfortable I was, the second thing I realized was there was daylight in the room. I peeled myself off of my desk, and stretched rotating my neck and shoulders wondering how the hell I managed to fall asleep sitting at this desk. I checked my phone, no missed calls, no messages, nothing. I frowned and stood up before walking to the window looking at the sunlight.
"Gross.." I said and closed the blinds and pulled the curtains over the window.
"Hey! Elvira, it's breakfast time!" Emma called from outside my door.
"Be right there, Princess!" I sneered and rolled my eyes. I walked out of the room, and down stairs. The smell of eggs and bacon..and pancakes maybe? Hit me before I made it to the kitchen. I slowly peeked in the kitchen at David cooking breakfast like he was cooking for an entire army. He turned and looked at me and smiled.
                              "Morning." David said.
"How many people are joining us?" I asked.
"It's just us, I wasn't sure how hungry you'd be." David chuckled.
"Dad tends to over cook." Emma said and shrugged and sat down and started helping herself to the food put out on the table.
"Go on, have a seat." Mary-Margaret smiled at me and gestured for an empty chair. I walked into the kitchen and sat down. David brought a plate of bacon to the table before sitting down.
"Help yourself Blaire. No need to be shy." He chuckled.
"Not shy. Just wondering where to start." I muttered looking at all the food. Mom was usually just getting home from work when I got up and was asleep, and Dad was usually just heading out the door for his day job. So I usually ended up with Eggos. Which I didn't mind.
"Bacon is a good start." Emma shrugged and grabbed some bacon from the plate on the table.
