♔Charlie's POV♔Aomine let me down when we entered what I guessed to be the main building, I? slipped on the devilish shoes that Momoi had been carrying for me. That girl was a miracle worker, my old make up artists used to have big problems getting the clown stuff on me let alone a dress.
She even managed to take off all my weights and the feeling of overwhelming power and strength was rushing through my body. My fingers tapped on my dress, I wanted to test my new strength out and I was expected to sit through a whole speech? The boys had another thing coming for them.
I grabbed Murisakibara's back and he helped me stumble to our seats. I sat down next to Kuroko and directed attention away from me by kicking a chair over a few away from mine.
"Tet, why are all the chairs pointed at us? And wait are we on the stage?" I gulped and hoped Murisakibara or Midorima sat in front of me. As there were 2 lines of chairs and I was seated behind the front line.
"Oh. Char-kun the basketball team is the strongest team in the school and Akashi's dad is the owner of the school. Therefore we usually sit at the front as representatives of the school for the new pupils you might have to say something as you are the only scholarship student." His face stayed emotionless but I sensed a sense of amusement at my face.
Public speaking was bad enough but without my weights I was going to say stuff that I would definitely come to regret. I closed my eyes praying kuroko was wrong.
"Oh you must be the famous Kinmura-kun." I opened my eyes and was greeted by an obese bald headed man. I ground my teeth together this man was patronising me with every word that left his chubby lips.
"I had no idea I was so famous in japan." I smiled at him and tried to calm my racing heart beat.
"You must be the new member for the basketball team. I heard you were in the strongest team in America before you, how do I put this, quit?" he smiled, obviously happy with his words.
"I was kicked off the team. I have bad habits and without me that team is worthless." His mouth hung open and as he was about to reply Midorima cut him off.
"Hello Deputy Head-san, this is our new recruit. She is the scholarship student and therefore has no clue on the runnings of the school, I shall reprimand her for you when we get back to our dorm." The deputy smiled.
"If it weren't for you and Akashi-kun I know for sure the basketball would not be sitting at the front. Well done son." He slapped Midorima on the back and walking to the opposite side of the stage he sat. I sent a glare at him which he caught and returned.
"Kinmura-kun please stop. You will get us on trouble." Midorima pushed his glasses up and left to talk to adults that sat along the walls of the hall.
I frowned and realise Kuroko had followed Midorima, so much for a friend to talk to.
I gazed at the massive clock and watched as students filed into the hall trying to grab the seats in the back. I pulled my shoes off, jumped off the stage and sprinted to the back. I just about managed to grab a seat in between two girls who looked like pieces of candy floss. I rocked back on my chair and placed my bare feet on the back of the chair in front of me.
This should be interesting.
I probably dozed off around the time the second sports team said a speech about how important it was, who the new recruits were and other useless information. I woke to the Akashi's voice, I realised I needed to get back to my seat and fast.
I kicked the chair in front of me and quickly crawled under my chair. Then I ambled along the side of the student chairs and next to the wall. I climbed onto the stage and sat down. Now for the difficult bit. I slipped on my shoes and tuned back into what was happening.
"...as the most accomplished sports club we are still number 1 in Japan. However we wish to expand and therefore will be competing in matches and tournaments against foreign countries. As a lot of you will know a person was clever enough and talented enough to get a scholarship to kuroshiro University, the highest achieving and some would argue the best sports university in Japan. They have joined the basketball team. Our new recruit for this year is Kinmura Charlie, however you probably know her as Kidston Charlie."
A murmur went through the crowd. I had no idea this university was so good I just wanted a place far from home where I could play sports.
"Kinmura-kun will now say a few words." He turned and smiled at me.
I got up and managed to walk without falling to the podium. Then taking a deep breath I began.
"My name is Kinmura Charlie and I was part of the best basketball team in America. I am honoured to have gotten into this school let alone with a scholarship." I nodded my head and walked back to my seat.
My hands trembled and my head was pounding. My eyesight blurred as my breathing became more difficult. Luckily both Midorima and Murisakibara sat in front of me but now my whole body was quivering like a feather. Akashi sat, having finished his speech and turning to congratulate me, his eyes widened.
I must be in a state right now, drops of sweat collected at my temples and ran down my face. Kuroko slowly reached over and placed an ice cold hand on my forehead. I flinched and he stared at me.
I needed to get out. I needed basketball. I needed my weights.
I leaned into Kuroko's chest and he slowly stroked my head, no one could see past the two giants anyway.
My eyesight blurred and I was swallowed by darkness.
