Henry's P.O.V.
Three weeks later.

"Is your master home boy?" I hear the stern voice of my father ask Moses. Quickly I scramble down the stairs and clear my throat. "Yes sir. I'm right here." I say and he sizes me up. Is there a place we can talk?" He asks and I say: "No place your welcome in. So, no sir. Whatever you came to say, say it and be on your way." "It's come to the family's attention that you've been keeping a certain woman of a certain class in your house. A prostitute." "She's my fiancee as of  two weeks ago." I say defiantly. "Well if that's the case then I would like to meet said fiancee. Dinner tonight." I chuckle and say: "Not on my life. You'll see her in time. I trust you can see yourself out." He clears his throat and then leaves. I run into the kitchen over to Hattie and say: "Hattie tell Missy to run as fast as she can to Pastor Evans and bring him back right away. And prepare the best wedding dinner this side of the Mason Dixon line!" She laughs and says: "Yes sir." I run back up the stairs and back into the bedroom where Doctor Robins finishes with Victoria. She smiles and puts on her gown then says: "I'm pregnant." My heart threatens to stop, and suddenly what I was going to say falls to the wayside. "Is it true?" I stammer out and she says: "Yes. I'm three weeks pregnant." All I can do right now is sweep her off her feet and say: "We're getting married in an hour." "What?" She says and I say: "I'm making you mine. There is a dress in the dressing room armoire. It was my sister and mother's. Now it's time for you." I drop to my knees and kiss her stomach, then stand up and say: "I love you Victoria Louanne D'Croix."
