"Good morning Padmé." Anakin kissed his wife's forehead as she opened her eyes.
"Ani!" She sat up and threw her arms around her husbands neck.
"The babies? Are the safe? Are they healthy?"
"Yes Padmé. Luke and Leia are fine. Ashoka and Rex spent the night in the nursery to make sure nothing came in."
"Can we go see them?"
"Of course." Anakin helped Padmé out of bed. And led her to the nursery. He pushed open the door, quietly, trying not to wake Ashoka and Rex. The door gently bumped into something and Anakin peeked around the door frame to see Ashoka, splayed on the floor. He smiled and shook his head as he stepped lightly over her legs toward the crib. He pulled Luke out first, lifting him as lightly has he could do he wouldn't wake up. He placed their son in Padmés arms then returned to fetch Leia. He lifted her into his arms then snuck out of the room, shutting the door behind him. He pulled Padmé towards the living room of the house, and sat down on the couch.
"Look at him. He has your nose and your eyes." Padmé stroked her sons face lightly.
"And Leia. She looks so much like your mother."
"And like you. She has her mother's beauty." Padmé smiled up at her husband.
"They're perfect, Ani."
"They are."
"What do we do now, Anakin? How do we continue our lives as Jedi and Senator while still managing to raise our children?"
"I think we live life as normal, Padmé. We can live together, on Naboo, and on coruscant. If the council tries to expel me, I will find some loophole. We will raise our children in the senate, and in the Jedi order. We can finally be husband and wife in public."
"I hope you're right, Anakin." A shrill wail shattered the couples ears. Luke had woken up, and he was shortly followed by Leia. Ashoka burst into the room with her lightsaber lit, Rex behind her with his blaster at the ready.
"Anakin the twins are... oh." She lowered her saber as soon as she saw the wailing pair of babies in front of her.
"Something tells me they will have no trouble needing protection at any point in their lives." Anakin said over the cry of the twins.
"Anakin, Padmé," Obi Wan joined the party in the living room, "The Jedi council and senate need you both back right away. We need to negotiate the end of the war with the separatists. I hope you have a good explanation for all of this when we get there."
"Of course, master." Anakin grinned at his master.
"I suggest we leave now, if you are ready, of course."
Tup entered the room pushing a large, levitating, crib pod.
"Sir, this is the safest way to transport children in hyperspace, it maintains the correct temperature and monitors the vitals of its inhabitants over the journey."
"Thanks Tup." Anakin thanked his field medic as he placed leia in the pod, Luke was laid next to her. They were both so small. Anakin closed the pod, and pushed it onto the ship they had arrived in.
