Anakin was deflecting bullets left and right. He was alone in the middle of a circle of angry Zyggerians with blasters he heard fire coming in from ahead and he ducked. He heard people land next to him and he was prepared for his capture, but suddenly the blaster fire stopped.
"Ducking isn't really your style skyguy."
"Ahsoka!" He said standing up.
"The fun has arrived General." Rex said, turning off his jet pack.
"How many more cities do we have to free?" Ahsoka asked.
"We've already taken care of about 75 percent of the planet. We only have about 3 more large cities left." Anakin said. Ahsoka nodded.
"You know snips, I had it under control." Ahsoka and Rex looked at eachother.
"I told you he was going to say that." She said. Anakin glared. Rex flipped her a credit.
"Hey!" Anakin said.
"You say that every time I save your life skyguy."
"I do not! I..." the look Rex was giving him quickly shut him up.
"Ahsoka! Rex! Glad to see you two back. We were beginning to worry you would never return!" Obi Wan joined the trio as they walked to the transport that would take them to the base where they could rest before the next city.
"It took me a week to sleep off all that electricity from the hut." Ahsoka said, "and then another week to recover in a tank." Obi Wan shook his head and smiled.
"We knew you'd make it back." Anakin said."Welcome to base camp. We've been here for two weeks and it just gets better every day." Anakin said as they all hopped out of the transport.
"Now I would like to go call Padmé before the twins bedtime." Ahsoka rolled her eyes, "everyone else, go get some rest. We have another city to take tomorrow." Anakin walked away from the group, to a small alcove with a bed where he had been sleeping. He pulled up the holo communicater, and contacted Padmé.
"Daddy!" He saw Leia jump into view.
"Hey princess!" He smiled at her.
"Hi daddy!" Luke appeared next to her.
"Luke!" He heard Padmé's voice from behind them.
"Luke, Leia, go get ready for bed now."
"Ok," Leia said sadly, she grabbed Luke's hand.
"I miss you dad." She said, and Luke nodded his head in agreement.
"I miss you too. But I'll be home before you know it, and I'll bring everyone home with me this time." Leia nodded, and pulled Luke away, then Padmé appeared.
"Padmé..." he sighed.
"Ani... how are you?"
"We're almost done. We have a few more cities left, and then I'll be home."
"Leia misses you. Luke misses you too, but you know how Leia is. She's a daddy's girl. She tells me about 5 times a day how I did her hair wrong." Padmé laughed. Anakin smiled.
"Did you put the ribbons in? She likes the ribbons." Anakin said. Leia only let her dad do her hair, if he wasn't there, Ahsoka was the second best, and if neither of them were their, Leia would begrudgingly allow her mother to do so. Padmé shook her head.
"Oh Anakin." She smiled.
"How's Luke?" Anakin asked.
"He talks about his lightsaber all day. I never hear an end of it." Anakin laughed.
"They've got a few years to go before they're ready for their lightsabers." He said. Padmé agreed.
"Ani, you should go get some rest." Padmé suggested as Anakin yawned.
"I love you, Padmé." He said, lifting his hand in the air.
"I love you too, Anakin." She lifted her holographic hand against his, and then she was gone."Alright. Ahsoka, Rex, you two are with me and Obi Wan. Everyone else, same way we've done all the other cities." The team nodded.
"Snips, try not to get captured and enslaved this time." Anakin said as they walked away from the table.
"I'll try my very hardest skyguy." She said sarcastically.
