[Y/n] sat in silence as she did her morning prayer. Usually, she does it with Iris, but [Y/n] needed some time to be alone with her thoughts. To think of what happened to her and how she ended up beaten up in front of Company 8. However, nothing was coming to her. She's been having the same dream. There was no connection between them. [Y/n] became frustrated.
'Great Sol...please, help me. I need clues to remember.'
As [Y/n] was praying, Shinra came jogging by when he noticed [Y/n] in the courtyard. He stopped when he noticed tears in her eyes. "This...is so frustrating..." [Y/n] muttered and noticed Shinra.
[Y/n] blushed a bit and tried to cover herself with her arms. She was only wearing a large button-up shirt that was falling off her shoulder. "S-Sorry!" Shinra said and stood around to corner. [Y/n] covered herself with a blanket and walked inside.
"I really am sorry." Shinra said and bowed his head. [Y/n] smiled and patted his head, even though he was taller than her.
"It's okay. I should have been more careful." [Y/n] said with her usual cheery voice. Shinra took her hand into his own, feeling the abnormal warmth in it. Since her wounds were healed, [Y/n] didn't need the bandages anymore, but she still needed the eyepatch over her left eye. [Y/n]'s flames healed her right arm somehow. "Is there something bothering you?" Shinra asked, and [Y/n]'s eye widened a bit, "Helping others out is a Fire Soldier's whole purpose so..." He looked genuinely concerned.
[Y/n] smiled, sadly. "It's a long story, actually." [Y/n] said, "To sum it up, truthfully, I don't really know who I am." Shinra's eyes widened a bit. "The day before you arrived as a new recruit, I somehow ended up in front of this building, all beaten up and burned."
"Have...any of your memories came back?" Shinra asked.
"I can remember glimpses of places I've been and little things like my favorite foods and favorite color." [Y/n] said. "I'll do whatever I can to help you." Shinra said with a determined look. [Y/n] looked at him in awe for a moment then she smiled. "Thank you, Shinra-kun." [Y/n] said. They didn't want to let go of each other's hands. [Y/n]'s hand felt small and safe in Shinra's, which made [Y/n] blush more. "Shinra...my hand..." [Y/n] pointed, and Shinra blushed. "S-Sorry." He said and let go while nervously smiling.
"I...also wanted to thank you for saving me yesterday. You're my hero, Shinra." [Y/n] said, and Shinra's eyes sparkled as he smiled more. [Y/n] giggled. "I love your smile. It's adorable." [Y/n] continued and walked away to her room.

"After the little dustup with the 5th yesterday, you probably know this, but that bunch is hinky. We are going to investigate them, and it may come to blows." Captain Obi explained while doing his "training". "Captain Obi, that's no longer physical training--it's something like physical training adjacent." Shinra muttered as him and the rest of Company 8 stood in front of her captain.
"Hinawa!"
"Our primary objective is to put Infernals to rest and keep the public safe." Takehisa explained, "However, we must keep in mind the 8th's hidden objective to investigate suspicious crew members and find the means to oppose them, as well. As Captain Obi said..." But, their soldiers stopped paying attention.
"Damn you, girffin! Attack my castle again, will you? I'll tarnish Excalibur with your blood!" Arthur said to a bird while getting into a fighting stance. "You really are an idiot." Shinra muttered. "Say whatever you want, but please don't harm that adorable griffin." Maki said, "You'll be arrested for violating the wildlife protection laws."
"You're pretty dangerous yourself, there, Maki-san." Shinra said, and Maki glared at him. "Then again, 90% of the time, Maki-san is cool, beautiful, and lovely." Iris said, " It's just a shame about the other 10%."
