Chapter 8

[Y/n] stared at Shinra in awe as the dust cleared while Tamaki went to go check on the children. "Are you all right, Kusakabe?" Tamaki asked. "I flew all the way here and then started fighting right off." Shinra said between breaths, "I'm a little lightheaded. Looks like I overused my pyrokinesis."

"You're overheated. You've used up too much of your body's oxygen to source your flames." Tamaki said. [Y/n] was about to walk over to check on Shinra, but she stopped when she saw Rekka struggling to get up. "It's over, Rekka Hoshimiya. Give yourself up, nice and easy." Shinra said. 

"I finally found a compatible child and our sacrifice. For the Evangelist's sake, they're not getting away!" Rekka yelled and started screaming. [Y/n] covered her ears. "For what reason are you turning children into Infernals? Are there more like you? And who is this 'Evangelist' and why are they after [Y/n]?" Shinra asked.

Rekka slowly got up. "I find compatible children and increase the number of us with abilities. We'll create Infernals, and return people back to flames with the purest Adolla Burst from the direct bloodline of the great Sol. All according to the will of the Evangelist." Rekka said, and [Y/n] got chills. "What's your objective?" Shinra asked and glared harder. 

"Behold the brilliance of the star of flames ensconced in the heavens. We will return to the bosom the great Sol! Turn all people into flames, and engulf the earth in the great flame of fire." Rekka explained, "Incinerate this imperfect earth and its humanity in the flames of salvation. And turn this world into a second sun!"

"What...are talking about?" Shinra asked, and [Y/n] stared in horror. "Destroy the world...with my blood?" [Y/n] muttered in disbelief. "To make this world a star!" Rekka said with a wicked smile. "Guys, we're getting out of here, now." Tamaki said to the children.

"They won't get away! I'll take them and make it look like they died in the fire!" Rekka said and his smile got crazier, "They'll receive the teachings of the Evangelist while in their childhood.

"In the fire...? While in their childhood...?" Shinra muttered and looked at Rekka, "Did you guys...take my brother, too?!"

"Burn, my Star Fists! Burn with fervor!" Rekka yelled, and [Y/n] noticed that he was being burned by his flames. "Stop! You're being burned by your own flames!" [Y/n] said. "I will burn all of you up before I am consumed! Látom." Rekka's flames were stopped by ice.

"What the...?!"

"Didn't you always say I was there at your back?" Karim questioned Rekka as his ice spread on Rekka's body. "Karim! Don't interfere!"' Rekka yelled. "Stop. The hotter you get, the more I'll cool you off." Karim said. "I'll just vaporize this ice!" Rekka continued to yell as he increased the heat in his arms, "Fire!" [Y/n] and Karim looked away as Rekka was encased in ice. "I wasn't always at your back so you could do something like this." Karim said.

"I heard the report, and what do I come here and see? Karim, what in the world?" Foien questioned. "I put Rekka on lockdown. We'll get all there is to know out of him later." Karim said. "Is the 1st going to be all right?" Foien questioned. "This is noting more than my hunch, but I get the feeling this isn't just the 1st problem. It's a much more whopping whopper of a problem, affecting the whole nation." Karim said.

Something suddenly shot a hole through Rekka's chest. Everyone stood in shock. "Rekka's been..." Shinra muttered, and [Y/n] covered her mouth. More shots were fire inside of the abandoned building. "Again?!" Shinra said. "A sniper?" Karim said.

[Y/n] looked around. "Karim!" Foien yelled and pushed Karim out of the way, getting his arm cut off in the process. "Shinra! Put up a smokescreen!" Karim ordered. "Right!" Shinra said. "Tamaki! You and [Y/n] stay out of sight with the children!" Karim said.
