1; cry baby
y/n sat trembling at the cards before her. transparent tears fell onto the hand. the few cards totaled twenty three. y/n hung her head down in shame, having lost 21,000,000 yen over a simple card game.
the students around the table snickered, jun folded his arms across his chest and cackled. kirari, normally cool, couldn't help but furrow her eyebrows in disgust.
y/n wiped her face multiple times and sniffed, snot peeking out of her nose. kirari saw the slouch of defeat and began exiting the classroom, sayaka tailing behind her.
y/n wiped her face for the eighth time. "let's play again," jun stopped boasting towards the others. y/n fixed her posture, tears stopped. her rose cheeks pulled up along with her devious lips. her hair flared, her arms wrapped around her body and a glint stood in her eye, from rush of the bet or the need to continue crying. "double the amount."
"bet."
and so another game continued. while it might've seemed idiotic of the girl to double the bet over a short game of cards, she did.
and she won.
and that's why kirari watched her. that's why the president watched the girl lose more often than not. cry more than laugh; because kirari knew she was an idiot. an idiot who loved the rush.
♠
y/n sat at her desk munching on chips. her and suzui conversed about the weeks math lesson.
kirari patrolled the hallways, sayaka trailing behind her.
the bounce of y/n's h/c hair caught her eye and she entered the classroom. here y/n's was trailing over her notes with her index. kirari played off her interest as watching a short game of rock paper scissors.
the white haired beauty eyed y/n, orbs darting with every movement she made. y/n leaned closer and closer to suzui's desk as she did some practice problems.
an irk mark appeared above kirari's eyebrows, yet she maintained a calm face.
"oh? wait so if you subtract the 13 and switch it around, you have to subtract 4b?." she overheard. kirari looked over her shoulder and y/n was leaning all the way on suzui's desk, finger to the paper and their foreheads near colliding.
sayaka sighed when she saw this because she knew what would happen next. kirari stormed over to the two and snatched y/n's wrist, dragging her out of the classroom.
"oi! president, that hurts!" tears collected on y/n's waterline as the pressure on her wrist increased. she was dragged through the maze of hallways, tripping over her shoes every few steps. "where are we going?" she wasn't answered.
kirari had deemed the outside deck private enough and threw y/n forward, leaving the girl to trip and scrape her knees on the wood. sayaka stood behind the president, until she was waved off to go.
blood dropped out of y/n's skin and her knees had a few splinters. she quietly wept in pain and sat on the wood, not bothering to get up. her black skirt was splashed with dirt and her shoes scuffed.
kirari looked down on y/n, watching the girl give up. her piercing blue eyes studied the girl, her same shaded lips curling upwards.
kirari kneeled down the y/n's height. the h/c haired girl looked up. her cheeks and nose were flushed with red and her eyes puffy. tear's streaked her swollen face and her lips bounced with each breath. she was a whole mess, because let's be honest, nobody looks good when crying.
kirari's fingers gently grabbed y/n's chin, tilting it upwards. y/n's eyes darted around, her face becoming more red.
"...miss president?"
kirari glowed.
"you are so frail. yet so resilient to utterly humiliate yourself every day, and do it again the next, i admire your bravery y/n."
y/n gulped. "thank you-" her voice barely above a whisper when she was cut off.
"but is it bravery," kirari's hand squished the girl's cheeks together. "or fatuousness?"
y/n furrowed her eyebrows, briefly trying to translate what exactly that meant.
kirari giggled at her expressions, and placed a soft kiss on y/n's squished lips.
this certainly took y/n off guard, her eyes widened and met kirari's, and her face flooded.
the two froze in place.
kirari stood up and held out a hand to y/n. y/n gladly took this and stood up, wincing at the pain in her knees.
kirari began walking away.
"cry less and you might get another one."
