y/n slammed open the gym doors. "i apologize for being late!" she bowed.
coach oiwake waved his hand. "it's fine just don't let it happen again." y/n nodded her head intensely and made her way over to the bench where coach oiwake and mai sat.
"good afternoon l/n-senpai!" koganegawa waved from across the gym.
y/n looked up from rummaging in her bag. "oh hello koganegawa!" she pulled out her chapstick and waved as well.
koganegawa clenched the volleyball in hand. futakuchi snickered and elbowed his ribs, earning a yelp. the two managers on the bench giggled.
"alright let's start!" coach clapped his hands together and blew the whistle. off on the sidelines y/n and mai watched the practice match intensely, watching for any mistakes or weaknesses that could be improved.
it was the opposing team's turn to serve. "l/n-senpai!" koganegawa called.
y/n flinched. "pay attention!"
"this set's for you!" koganegawa threw the second year a thumbs up with a determined look on his face. y/n held her clipboard to her chest and blushed. sakunami received the serve with ease and lined it up with koganegawa.
koganegawa stood in position under the falling ball. his arms stretched up in the air. his fingertips grazed the ball and let it fall closer to his face. koganegawa extended his arms and the ball went flying behind him.
y/n marveled at the beautiful set, but her face fell well the ball hit the floor.
"uh koganegawa-" futakuchi deadpanned.
the room went silent as the ball lightly bounced. koganegawa flew around, as nobody was there to complete his set.
on the bench, y/n clenched her hand over her puffed cheeks, bending over, trying to hold in giggles. mai slapped her back and scolded her for laughing. "get a hold of yourself!" y/n tried to play off her fit as a cough.
koganegawa's face went red and the rest of date tech produced menacing aura's.

y/n walked home alone after practice. the sky ombréd in orange and purple. she scrolled on her phone and walked alone.
"l/n-senpai!" koneganegawa called. he jogged up to the girl and waved his hand.
y/n looked up from her phone and turned her head, still walking. "hello koganegawa, how are you." she asked. she put her phone in her bag and focused her attention on the tall male.
"i'm doing really good, how about you?" he blushed.
y/n shrugged. "just living i guess."
koganegawa nodded and the air became silent. "may i walk you home?" he asked.
"well we're already halfway there so sure." y/n smiled.
the two walked together to the girl's house. the sun set down and the sky became dark. y/n and koganegawa reached the her house.
the two stood on the front porch. "thank you for walking me home, kanji." y/n said.
koganegawa was taken back by the use of his first name, but he appreciated it.
"would you maybe want to go out after school tomorrow?" he rubbed the back of his head.
y/n blushed then violently nodded her head. "i would appreciate that very much!"
koganegawa beamed. "all right! i'll see you at practice!"
y/n nodded. "i'll see you." and entered her home.
