Inspired by the song 'Kiwi' from the album 'Harry Styles'
"Okay, look," you begin, reading the scrawled words, following along to the music dribbling from the speakers. "Harry, you're my best friend and I support you in every possible way, but what the hell is this song about? I'm getting a lot of mixed messages."
Harry stares at you, his fingers tapping out the rapid beat on his knees. He huffs a sigh and turns the music off.
"If I'm being completely honest, I have no fucking idea. It kind of started as a joke, I hadn't written for a while and this was the result." He chuckles to himself, running a hand through his chestnut curls.
"It's so aggressive," you add with a smile. "Also, what's all this about a cactus??"
"Ah, I figured you'd ask about that. Again, I don't know. But like, a lot of girls I've met have plants in their house and-"
"By 'met,' you mean 'slept with'?" You interject, raising an eyebrow."Yes, but that's beside the point. A lot of them had plants all over the place, I figure that's a girl thing, but maybe this girl had a cactus. You never know. Maybe the cactus is a metaphor, an emotion, I don't know..."
"Aha!" You exclaim, jolting up from your seat. "So it is about a girl! Who?"
"It's not about any certain girl, it's just about girls, essentially." Harry rolls his eyes at you, huffing a sigh.
"So how many girls, exactly," you begin, returning to your seat and quoting the sheet of lyrics, "are 'having your baby" and why is it 'none of your business'?" You raise your eyebrows at him and laugh as he snatches the lyrics from you.
"Hopefully, no one is having my baby."
"Yeah, you'd better cross your fingers, Styles."
"Oh, ha ha. Very funny." Though you hear slight annoyance in his tone, you watch the corners of his mouth lift into a small smile.
"Come on," you say, standing up and holding your hand out to him. "Let's go get coffee." Harry takes your hand and you waltz out of the studio, arms swinging slightly.
"You know your Mum is going to hear that song, right?" You whisper when you're out on the street.
"Yeah, but Kiwi is probably the least of her worries. Wait until you hear Watermelon Sugar." Harry shoots you a mischievous grin.
"Do I even want to know?" You ask, rolling your eyes as you step into the coffee shop.
"Probably not."

Author's Note
This was such a short chapter but it was fun to write, so oh well. I decided I wanted to try writing something where 'you' and Harry are just best friends. I know imagines are usually romantic, and there has been romance in every single one of my imagines so far, but I wanted to spice it up a little bit. This was the end result.
Anyway, I hope you're all taking care of yourselves. I miss my friends so much but I'm doing okay.
Treat people with kindness.

Butterfly :)
