Chapter 5
As soon as I get through the door, I collaspe.
"Haven!" Rileys shouts, while rushing towards me.
I lift my hand and caress Riley's face, and he starts to hold my hand.
"Haven, what happened?" Drake asks.
"I met my dad, and got my wings," I tell them, sleepily.
They look at the pair of shiny black wings protruding from my shoulderblades.
"Haven, you're bleeding," Drake points out.
"They hurt. When I got them. I was mad."
"Hers were forced upon her," Drake explains to Riley."I guess being around her dad, and being upset cause her to get them earlier than she should've."
"Need, sleep. Goodnight."
They start to shake me lighty trying to keep me awake but, I'm already asleep, and my dream has begun.
It's strange, I'm not in the forest, or my dad's house. Which is what I was expecting, but instead, I'm at school. I hear a pair of high heels walking on the floor, it's coming from behind me so I turn around.
"Hello, Haven," this person greets, I'm shocked at who I see.
"Mrs. King? What are doing here?" I ask.
"I see that you've gotten your wings," she points out, and I finger them while tucking them behind me. "It's nothing to be ashamed of. You're a very special person, Haven."
"How can you be so fine with this? Don't you think that it's weird, not normal?"
She smiles, "I was sent by a very special person. There are more people like you and me than you think," she tells me.
"People like you?" I ask.
She is then covered in a bright light, when the light goes away she's changed. Her hair full and blonde, her glasses are gone, she looks younger. But what I notice the most is the pair of beautiful white wings behind her.
"You're an angel?" I ask in disbelief.
"Yes, I was told to watch over you," she explains. "I've heard that you've been having certain issues with one of the fallen, Milo."
"Yeah, I don't know why but I always seem to let his hypersuasion get to me," I tell her.
"That's not the only problem is it?" she asks.
"He keeps impersonating people I know, like Riley. And," I start but decide not to tell her.
"And what, Haven?" she pries.
"He wants, to see, what a kid would be like, with... with two fallen parents," I tell her.
"Oh my. This is worse than I thought."
"And there's also the problem with my dad. He says that I'm his heir, but I don't want it. I don't want to be like him."
"And you don't have to be. You have a choice, Haven."
It doesn't seem like I do. Between my father and Milo. I can't keep my head straight," I tell her.
"Well, this goes against all of my morals, but you may have to eliminate one or even both of them."
"No. I won't kill anyone, that wouldn't make me any better than the rest of them."
"Well you may not have any other options."
"That will be my last option," I explain.
Suddenly, I go from being in the school to being in the forest, this is bad. I look around but I don't find Milo, and I start to calm down. But then I start to hear footsteps, and my heart begins to race again.
