Chapter 8
Abby's P.O.V.
So Haven has gotten herself kidnapped again, big surprise….not! I don't know what's so special about her, she's really no different than me just has freaky friends. She tells me that I have to be careful…pfft she's the only one that bad things happen to. I hear someone knocking on the door, and since Haven is sleeping again I answer it.
When I open the door I see a tall, dark-haired man, "Can I help you?" I ask.
"I am looking for Ms. Mathews," he tells me.
"She's sleeping, come back later," I say while starting to close the door and he stops me.
"No, I need to speak to Ms. Mathews," he insists, his eyes burning a bright emerald green.
"Alright, I'll go wake her up then. Wait here," I instruct.
Heading up the stairs, I knock on Haven's door and it swings open; I see her lying peacefully in her bed, asleep. Being the annoying sibling I am, as she puts it, I start poking her repeatedly.
"Haven? Haven? Haven!? Wake up!!" I shout.
"Go away, Abby," she mumbles.
"But there's someone here to see you. He won't leave," I tell her.
"What? Who?" she asks, jolting upright.
"I don't know, he didn't say. He's tall, has brown hair, green eyes. Ring any bells?"
"It's Orin. Orin!" she shouts and runs downstairs.
I follow her down the staircase and see her pretty much tackle this Orin person.
"How did you get out?" she asks, stunned.
"It is somewhat of a funny story. Your brother let me go," he explains.
"Drake did? But why?"
"I do not know, maybe he is finally returning to the side he once fought for."
"I doubt it, but it's always a possibility. Abby why don't you go play outside for a bit 'til Mom gets home," she tells me.
As usual, when Mom isn't home, she acts like she's the boss. She's just so…so obnoxious! I really do hate her most of the time, and she thinks because she's older she gets everything she wants. Instead of going outside, like Haven told me to do, I head up to her room to do a little snooping around. I quietly creep into her room and start searching through her things. After a little bit of digging I find something of interest, it's a t-shirt that has holes in the shoulders and is covered with dried blood. What happened to you, Haven? I ask myself. I finished looking around so I decided to go outside. It looks nice enough to go to the park so I head back inside to tell Haven where I was going but she was still talking to that Orin fellow so I just leave a note on the fridge.
I'm going to the park, see you later.
Abby
Not like she'd care where I was going anyway but Mom might wonder when she gets home. I head out the door and am greeted by another stranger who looks at me oddly.
"And who might you be?" he asks, he is a little taller than Haven with the same bright eyes as Orin.
"I'm not supposed to talk to strangers," I tell him.
"Well, I'm Milo. And you?"
"Abby."
"See now we're not strangers. Do you know who lives here?"
