"Leon! Where did you put Kaylee's fragile boxes?" I yell across Kaylee's house. He doesn't answer me and I sigh. I go outside to see if they're already in the truck but they aren't. I walk back inside and try to find him.
"Brother! Where the butt are the fragile boxes?" I yell. He turns the corner with the boxes in his hands and hands them to me. He goes to go get more boxes but stops.
"Wait, did you call me brother? " he asks. I shrug and turn around, walking to the truck to put the fragile stuff in. I set them in the backseat and close the door. Leon catches up to me and repeats himself.
"Yeah, I called you brother. Technically you are like an older brother to me," I tell him. He hugs me and then goes back to getting the boxes. I sit on the tailgate of the trunk and watch the birds sitting on top of the for sale sign on Kaylee's lawn.
Tears prick my eyes as I think about my biological brother. I would like to think he'd be pretty happy with the way my life turned out if he was here. I snap out of it when Wyatt touches my leg and stares up at me worriedly.
"Are you okay?" He asks. I watch the clouds move across the sky as we sit on the tailgate of the truck. I lean my head on his shoulder and for once I answer that question truthfully.
"Yeah, I'm okay," I tell him. Rhys and Kaylee walk out with the last of the boxes. I get in the passenger's seat and Wyatt starts the truck. Rhys and Kaylee ride with Leon back to the house.
When we get there we unload her stuff and take it to their room just as Willow and the others take her boyfriend, Finch's stuff up to their room. We get done unloading everything at about two and decide that we are going to go out and get lunch.
We drive up to a cafe that I immediately recognize as Emily's place. We walk in and she immediately asks where me and Scout were and who the new people are.
She pushes a few tables together and we catch her up on everything. She nods and then goes to go get sandwiches and our drinks. She comes back a few minutes later with the food and drinks quickly setting them down.
"I have to get back to work, but you guys come back anytime," she says. I nod and give her a hug before letting her go serve other customers. We eat the sandwiches and talk for a while.
I sit on my smoothie and watched as Wyatt talks to Leon. Leon tells him about earlier and he smiles and looks over at me. I hide behind my smoothie and shrug bashfully.
Cove and Willow talk about Shrek and Astrid and Scout join in, eventually getting the whole table talking about it. I go to pay but Emily insists it's on the house and I thank her before we walk out.
The others all start singing a Shrek song and I laugh and join in. We get in our cars and drive to a trampoline place. We get our socks and wristbands and get on the trampolines.
Blythe jumps so hard that Rhys gets five feet in the air and bounces a couple of times before stopping. He lays on the trampoline dazed. Kaylee walks over to him and picks him up.
Me, Wyatt, Astrid, and Scout go over to a huge slide race and sit on them. I tuck my wings behind me so they don't get in the way and the person holding the bar counts down before pulling it up.
Scout makes it to the bottom first, me after her and Astrid in last place. She shakes her head and laughs. We walk back over to the others and jump on the trampolines for a while, Scout doing a couple of flips.
We get tired and go to the arcade. everyone runs off in separate directions but I follow Leon, Willow, Finch and Cove. I watch as Willow and Cove take turns playing Pac man, Leon and Finch close by watching their girlfriends play. I go to a claw machine and put in a couple of coins to try to get a puppy stuffed animal.
I pout as the claw drops it back into the sea of other stuffed animals. Wyatt pushes me over and tries his luck. He gets it and hands it to me. I hug it close to my chest and thank him. He smiles and ruffles my hair before we walk over to where Oak and Blythe are playing and intense game of air hockey.
"Oak! You can't take away my vision! That's cheating!" Blythe yells at her. She smiles and hits the puck into Blythe's goal, winning the game. I laugh and spot Scout and Astrid playing a dancing game. Astrid is definitely winning and Scout glances at her in shock every once in a while.
Rhys and Kaylee sit in one of the photo booths and are taking pictures. I hug on Wyatt's arm and point at the empty photo booth. We walk in and take some pictures, most of them really funny. We print two sets out and I put mine in my wallet.
We meet the others back at the front of the arcade and go back into the trampoline park. After about an hour the loudspeaker announces that it's almost closing and that everyone must leave.
We walk outside to find that the sun has already set and the sky is blanketed with stars. We walk to our cars and go back to the house. Coves starts making dinner, Leon trying, and failing, to help her. She takes the spoon out of his hand and pecks him quickly on the mouth. She then bans him to the table and he sits there sadly.
I ruffle his hair and sit down beside him. He stares over at where Cove is cooking and pouts. He plays with the table cloth and I hand him my fidget cube.
"At least your aren't as bad at cooking as Willow, she almost burnt my house down making popcorn," I tell him. I hear Willow protest from the other room and I laugh, hoping that Finch made a mental note not to let her cook anything.
Leon laughs and we talk about Wyatt for a while. Leon plays with the fidget cube in his hands while we talk and doesn't look over at Cove anymore.  Wyatt walks in in the middle of our conversation and stands behind me.
"Talking about me?" He asks, leaning down and wrapping his arms around my waist. I chuckle and nod. He kisses my head and looks over at Leon. Leon sticks his tongue out and they fight for a while.
"Dinner is ready!" Cove yells from the stove. Leon gets up, ending the fight, and helps Cove set the table. They set the food down in the middle of the table and everyone sits down and starts eating.
"The dark and the light have come together. It's darlight!" Astrid exclaims. Everyone at the table laughs. I look around and sigh contentedly. Darlight is a good word for us royal band of misfits.
