real life.
" who is she, chris? "

10th of december 2019: manhattan, new york city.
10:05pm - adella's apartment.

adella had been relentless since she had received the phone call from chris' so-called hookup and she paced her small home in east village, manhattan.

things had been going really well for them so far. they had gone on multiple dates, luckily without being caught, stayed over at each others houses and even gone out with their friends.

things were perfect until the call.

she had a glass of wine in her hand, despite the little voice in the back of her head begging her not to drink anymore. she was nearly on her third glass and old habits would soon form if she didn't stop.

a heavy knock at her door made her rush towards it, opening with force to come face to face with chris, baseball hat upon his messy hair. another poor attempt at escaping the paps.

"hi babe." he lent for a kiss, brushing his lips against hers only for a small amount of time before she moved to shut the door, soon returning to the living room.

chris has trailed after her, eyes becoming worried at the sight of the wine glass and nearly empty bottle of wine on her table. "you okay, honey?"

a shaky breathe was released and adella spoke up, accent thick between her lips, "i received a call. apparently from the girl you cheated on me with." she watched chris' jaw clench at the mention of the girl. she filled him on what the girl had said to her.

"did you keep the number?" adella nodded, handing him her phone and he unlocked his own, she assumed to see if the numbers matched but her head filled with negativity at the thought of him still keeping her number.

as if he read her mind, he looked up, "i didn't keep her number, del. but i still have our chat history."

she sighed, collapsing back onto the mustard sofa and took another sip from her glass, watching chris eye it warily. "take it easy, okay?"

"i am." she snapped, instantly regretting it and within seconds, tears were welling in her eyes. "sorry."

chris took of his hat and took a seat beside her, pulling her into his strong arms. that's what safety felt like to her.

she sniffed in his neck, waiting for his reply. a pause, "yeah, it was her. i'm so sorry, del."

for some reason, adella felt a rush of relief but embarrassment at the same time. she bit her tongue, "it's not your fault. nasty bitch."

chris let out a low chuckle. "that's her alright."

she placed the glass on the table, hugging him tighter. the question she had been wanting to ask for months was on the tip of her tongue and couldn't stop before talking. "who is she, chris?"

chris gulped, his nerves getting the best of him. "h-her name was, well is, jessica. i've known her for a while and we kind of dated in high school - nothing serious, but then i saw her at that bar in soho when i was out with the boys."

adella held her breath. his voice cracked violently, "i'm so sorry baby, i didn't mean for any of this to happen. you know i love you, right?"

she just nodded.

a/n just so yall know there won't be a face claim for jessica, so u can use your imaginations xx

it will always be you. ( c.e. )Where stories live. Discover now
