As soon as I stepped off the plane, the Florida humidity hit me. I peeled Ashton's hoodie off and readjusted my backpack and went towards the baggage claim where my parents told me to meet them.
Coming around the corner, I could see my father, John, and my mother, Melissa, over by one of the conveyor belts. My mother's eyes met mine and she tugged my dad's arm and they rushed over.
"Hi Mom" I laughed as I was suffocated by her hug.
"Oh, we've missed you" she swayed us side to side, then finally let go so my dad could hug me.
"How's my little girl?" He smiled, pulling me into him.
"I'm good Dad" I laughed.
We grabbed my suitcase, then hopped in the car to drive home. I took that time to text Ashton:

[I landed! But I miss you already😘]

Not even a minute later, my phone buzzed and a text popped up with his name:

Ashy🥰: [I'm glad you've landed. Miss you too! Have fun with your family! I'll call you tonight! Love youu]
[Love you too!]

"So Hannah, I thought maybe Ashton would come with?" My dad questioned, taking a glance at me in the back.
"He's got to work. His band has an album coming out in a couple weeks so he's pretty busy right now" I responded, letting my phone now rest in my lap.
"I was hoping to maybe meet and talk to him in person instead of over FaceTime like we always do" he told me. His 'dad' side was really coming out.
"I know Dad, but you'll meet him when we come for Spring Break" I tried to lighten it up.
"Well, our cruise may get rescheduled Spring Break" my mom spoke up, "A lot of cruise lines are cancelling because of the virus".
"Oh," I looked down then back up, "I promise he's not a bad guy. I've been dating him for two years" I said trying to assure them Ashton's not bad.
"We know. It's just that you HAVE been dating for two years and we've never met him in person" Dad sighed.
I just nodded as a response.
"Are Kyle, Ally, and Cassie home?" I asked, referring to my older brother and two older sisters. Kyle attends the University of Florida while my sisters both go to the University of Alabama. They're all in their Masters programs now while I'm still an undergraduate.
"Yeah. Kyle came home yesterday and Cassie and Ally actually came home a week ago. You were the last one they let out" Mom answered, "Oh and Kyle's girlfriend, Madison, is there too" she laughed.

After stopping for lunch, we arrived home. First thing I did was go up to my bedroom. I laughed a little walking in, seeing that nothing changed. The walls are still painted an aqua color; the walls covered with canvas prints of waves. My queen bed was centered with a white comforter and mounds of pillows a top. My desk and dresser still had pictures of my friends and I from high school. In the corner were some old surfboards and on the shelves housed trophies and medals.
