(third person pov)

"Hey-" Marcus paused as she stormed past his room and into hers. "You goo-"

"Fuck off," She mumbled, closing her door. Marcus frowned and paused his game, heading to her door. Pressing his ear to it, his eyebrows furrowed up to hear sniffles.

He headed down to the basement where Miles and Grayson were and headed in. "Dad?"

Grayson pushed his working glasses up and Miles stopped with the sander. "Wanna help?" Gray asked with a grin. "Here, sand that wood down for m-"

"She's crying," Marcus said. Miles frowned and looked at Grayson. Grayson put his drill down.

"Crying?" He asked. She nodded. "She's home?"

"Yeah, she just locked herself in her room." Grayson looked at the eighteen-year-old next to him. Miles shrugged, pulling his gloves off. Miles shrugged too and Grayson pulled his gloves off too, brushing his hands on his jeans.

"Yeah, let's go check on her," Grayson mumbled, walking past the worried 17-year-old and back upstairs. Marcus followed him, Miles right behind.

They checked in Mateo's room first. "Hey, bud, you home?" Grayson asked, knocking on the door. Mateo looked up from his phone and nodded.

"Yeah, we left early," Mateo grumbled. Grayson raised his eyebrows as the sixteen-year-old sat up. "She told me to take her home, yeah I don't know," He mumbled.

"She's your twin bud, what?" Grayson asked. Mateo shrugged. "Hm."

"Didn't she like have that fight with that girl at school?" Miles asked. Mateo shrugged. "That thing with the names on the walls or some girl shit?" Mateo shrugged again.

"That was like, last month, she would've moved on from that," Mateo said, stretching his arms. "We were just, I don't know sitting around and she came from the bathroom and told me to take her home," He said. Grayson frowned.

"Maybe she's on her period or some shit?" He asked. The boys shrugged.

"I tried asking her what's wrong and she told me to fuck off," Miles said. Grayson nodded.

"Then that's probably it, she's probably just on her period," Grayson told them. They shrugged. "Okay, I'll go check on her or something," He mumbled, turning around.

Gray walked out as they stayed in Mateo's room just in case she threw a fit. "Princess," He called, knocking on the door. "Angel," He whispered.

"I'm busy," Mariah choked out. Grayson frowned.

"With what, baby?"

"Nothing, does it matter?" She yelled back, sobbing. Grayson tried her doorknob but it didn't budge. "You wanna open the door for me?"

"No, I told you to leave me alone!" She yelled. Grayson winced as the boys walked out of Mateo's room. "I'm showering, dad, tell Mateo to get out of the bathroom," She grumbled. He looked at Mateo and before he could say anything he heard the bathroom door connecting their rooms slam shut.

"Something happened," Miles says. The other three nod and they think for a second. "Ask one of your friends," He says to Mateo. Mateo shrugs.

"No one's gonna tell me shit," He mumbled. Grayson rubbed his face. "She was literally fine when we left for the party, was putting makeup on and shit. Then she came and was all fucking moody."

"But if it were, that, she wouldn't be this bad," Marcus said. They all shrugged and Milo leaned against her room door. "Should we check her phone?"
