Trust and Betrayal are twins
Fraternal yet still an illusion
A mosaic
Beautiful in all its brokenness
Just like us
I trusted you
Knew I shouldn’t
Still I did
Because I thought you would change
For me
Now I learn
It’s a distant dream
One that cannot - will not - be reached
I am Trust as you are Betrayal
You break me into a thousand shattered pieces
Leave me to fix my stained glass window
Mold it into this
Broken masterpiece
Of an angel without her wings
Unable to fly as she once did
Left to crumble
At your feet
