"It's okay. Let it go." they said
"He's young." they cooed
"Be the bigger person." they demanded
Well, I did.
I let him have his way
Allowed him to get into my head
Every nook and cranny was filled by him
He gnawed at my nerves
For breakfast, lunch, and dinner
Down to the very marrow of my bones
Still, it was never enough to satisfy him
The greedy bastard wanted more and more
First their love, now my voice
My rights are stripped from me
The power I deserved placed upon him
All because he is a man
They praise him
As the blade consoles me
Giving me an escape
Is this what they wanted?
The razor sharp teeth sinking into another vein
Is this punishment mine?
Blood gushing into the tub
Was this my only purpose?
Eyes rolling back
Is it still my fault?
