We were of and walking when i noticed that the sun was setting around us like a thick mist. It was of course getting darker and all of the forest was around us was turning blacker and the shadows jumped out to get us when the flashlight shined on them.

"Are we almost there." Kodi complained.

"I believe so though I can't really tell yet."

"I think we should stop here." I chimed in, my feet really where hurting.

"OK I think I have to agree with you."

Kodi nodded enthusiastically.

We stopped got out the tent and sleeping bags put those on the floor of the tent then grabbed our clothes and took turns changing in the tent.

when we finished we went into the tent and laid down in a sleeping bag and quickly fell asleep.

When I woke up the sun filtered through the canopy of the tent and I could hear the sound of birds tweeting and the wind rushing past.

I got out of the sleeping bag and walked out of the tent. The sun hit me with a hard glare and made me have to squint. as my eyes adjusted to the light I noticed that Bailey was outside with a grill cooking something that smelled delicious.

Kodi was dashing around doing something with a small bag and looking like an idiot.

"What are you doing, grabbing salamanders!" I shouted sarcastically.

Kodi turned and yelled back. "Looking for berries or edible plants."

I rolled my eyes then walked over to see if Bailey needed help with breakfast. then I smelled it, pancakes my mouth watered.

That smells SO good."

"I know right."

"Anything I can do to help?"

"Ummmm." Bailey said as Kodi trotted over with his sack and dumped the contents onto the table. There where Huckleberries and Blueberries and some wild Strawberries along with countless other plants and other fruits that i didn't know the names of.

"You can sort the fruits while Kodi you can sort the leaves and flowers."

I nodded and started sorting. We sorted in silence for a while when Kodi asked.

"So Where are we going? Like can we see where this falls is."

Bailey started to turn in a circle and pointed to a mountain not far in front of us. "That's where we're going. On the other side there's a waterfall that has a cave behind it but the back of the cave is an illusion and there's a path at the back that goes to another hill that is closed of to veeders that moves around this forest and THAT is where the Spirit-foxes live."

She took a deep breath and finally said. "But the illusion only lifts at dawn."

"So that means that we have to get their at dawn then or wait around for hours on end." Kodi sighed. "oh well."

The batter was almost gone as Bailey flipped another pancake onto the plate. The fruit was in a bowl and all of the flowers and leaves where put into a container and stuffed into the bag so that we were ready to leave soon. And given a chance to get to get to Castrof falls by dawn.

I sat back down only now noticing that I had stood up. I helped put the tent away and packed my stuff away in the bag.

Ten minutes later we were packed and walking away from the campsite. we could finally see Castrof mt. and it was encouraging that we could see where we were going.

over the day the mountain got closer and closer and then we were right at the base of it. then there was the steep climb up to a cave somewhere at the top. Just thinking of it made my head hurt.

I sighed then started up the steep switch back to the top. I heard Kodi grumble something about it being to steep and high and that his feet were hurting but both me and Bailey ignored him and kept walking.

The entire journey was torturous but we were ready it was tiring yes but invigorating all the same. although Kodi had to stop and catch his breath which meant that we had to stop with him making the trip longer.

we finally got what we thought was half way up when Bailey stopped looked at the sun and started unpacking the things that we would need for the last stretch of the road. It got steeper from here and we needed to have rope and rock climbing shoes witch Bailey at least remembered.

We all at the least scraped a knee each maybe an elbow because of the rough terrain but it was all worth it when we got to the cave right before sundown.
