Black Wings A Cast of Magic

Chapter 12

Really about ten minutes later Bailey came out of our treehouse in a black elastic suit thing that went snugly around her waist and ended at her neck. A bit like Black Widows suit in the Avengers. It honestly looked, really really, good in her.

"What took you so long." Kodi asked. He said it with a light tone to his voice so we both understood it was meant to be a joke.

I hadn't meant to be rude but I wanted to ask the same question myself.

I just smiled and jumped of the treehouse patio, again both Bailey and Kodi gasped when I jumped and looked over the edge to see if I was OK.

I flew up over their heads. Bailey gave a wow of amazement and Kodi's jaw dropped.

"That's the most amazing thing ever." Bailey said then added another wow to that.

I blushed that was something I wasn't used to being complimented for, then again I wasn't used to being complimented in the first place by friends but I never really had friends, ever so this was an improvement.

"What are you blushing about." Dawn asked as she flew up to us.

"Oh just that I'm not used to being complemented by friends before."

"Ah well, I hope you get in some flying practice, you'll need it for tomorrow."

Kodi and Bailey gave us confused glances as I shook my head to say "not now."

"I know, we were just going to go see if anyone wanted to play tag with us."

"Have you played hide and go seek tag before."

'Yes."

"Ah well that's one of our favorites so lots of us will want to play even adults and young spirits from the guard, so you might want to publicly say the game to everyone."

I nodded and said. "Well then we'll be of then."

When Dawn left Bailey and Kodi started to barge me with questions. I held up my hand and said. "I'm going to have a flying performance with the queen every week to see how much I have learned I meant to tell you but it just slipped my mind."

Bailey nodded and kept walking with me flirting around her like I was dancing in the air. Kodi was staring at me and I blushed. He noticed that I saw him looking at me and turned away blushing way more than I was (I think).

We were in the tree square a moment later and I yelled. "ANYONE WANT TO PLAY HIDE AND GO SEEK TAG." at least two dozen spirit-foxes came dashing over no hesitation and I smiled this was going to be loads of fun.

"So who wants to be it." I asked.

At least three screams of ME came into my head and I said to them. "Do you know how to play rock paper scissors." Most of them nodded and I said again. "Anyone who wants to be it stand in the middle."

Five spirit-foxes stepped up and they all did rock paper scissors with their tails. it was a bit different from how humans did it but close enough that I understood what was going on. Then after about seven minutes a young spirit-fox won the last mach and started counting

Someone in the crowd yelled a moment later. "count to a hundred." Then everyone scattered and we went of to hide somewhere in the village there where rules of course like no going into someone else's treehouse and don't go outside the force field but other than that it was free game.

I looked around and saw plants and trees everywhere but I didn't see a good place to hide until I came across a small market in the treehouse system and I ran in I took a place on the underside of a branch and was now glad that I had worn the sports outfit.

I let my wings shift and go into a tucked position on my back.

I was on a dark shadowy crevice in a dark oak tree and my black wings blended in with the trunk of the tree so I turned around to blend in with my face pressed against the hard scratchy surface.

I waited there for what seemed like about roughly twenty minutes when an alarm blared it wasn't like any alarm I had ever seen or heard either it was like a siren and a stampede of animals mixed together.

I left my hiding place and went to go see what was going on. Apparently I wasn't the only one confused by the alarm.

Everyone headed to the town square so i followed the crowd.

I entered the square and above all the rest of spirit-foxes was one in particular, the queen.

Some of the spirit-foxes gasped and asked each other what was going on other murmured to each other about concerns they had.

The queen raised her voice and telepathically yelled. "QUIET."

The chater quieted down and their attention turned to their queen.

"There has been a breach in our systems a human with evil magic spells has come into the cave teleporter and could possibly be a threat so I would advise doing an emergency packing I am also going to do a call to arms all willing to fight fly forward."

I found myself flying forward and I was ready all I needed was I sword.

"Is someone willing to call the order." Kodi stepped forward and said. "I will."

The queen nodded to him and said. "go then get ready for battle."

Kodi left and went to go get ready.

The queen then said. "you are dismissed."

I ran to catch up with Bailey and said. "You ready."

She nodded and said. "As ready as I'll ever be."

I nodded and flew up to our treehouse that was enough clarification for me. I grabbed the two short swords that I had brought with me and I grabbed a special suit that was flexible yet was powerful and strong enough for a sword to hit it.

I dressed into it and pulled out my sheath and put the swords into it I turned around looking at myself I looked around and I looked nice. If I was going to go into battle i was going to go into battle where people remembered me after my death.

then I turned and walked out the door.
