Not so Ugly

As she looks in the mirror,
She sees a girl who isn't perfect.
She couldn't see her flawless beauty,
Or that she is a verset.

All she sees are dark circles,
Reminding her of sleepless nights.
Or her swollen hands and thighs,
Reminding of a figure that isn't right.

She couldn't appreciate her curves,
Or her curing smile.
She thinks she lacks beauty,
Or these trending styles.

She thinks she's unworthy,
That no one wants her.
Little did she know,
That she is too pure to decipher.

She is fighting for self love,
Winning against her insecurities.
To stop being self-conscious,
To win over her nervousness and worries.

I wish I could show her,
How beautiful you are.
Even if you're healthy,
Or you carry a longing scar.

I wish I could be her,
To tell you how beautiful she is.
That she's far away from being ugly,
To make her feel like a beautiful bliss.

A shoutout to all girls,
Stop worrying about how the world wants you to function.
Just smile to yourself,
Confidently, to your reflection.
