We arrived at RAD and it was so very different to how I remembered it. The flower beds had wilted, with no sign of colour or life; there were few students in the courtyard that would usually be bustling with demons going from A to B and it was quiet. There was a deadly silence that hung over the school, in complete contrast to how I remembered it from 5 months ago.
"Since Diavolo died it's been like this," Satan spoke out loud clarifying my confusion. "It's hard to get used to really."
He took my hand as we opened the large wooden door to the school. Satan had told me that he wouldn't be able to stick around for my meeting as he had some homework to finish in the library so we parted ways and I headed to the principal's office.

The door loomed over me, I'd only been here once before and Diavolo had sat at the desk in the middle of the room. Lucifer would sit here now, looking after the school and the realm until I was ready too. I knocked on the door, the bang from my knuckles echoing through the hall. "Come in". I heard Lucifers stern and assertive voice from behind the door and pushed it open, slipping inside. The room was exactly as I remembered it - red and gold embellishments with a large wooden desk in the middle, a large window behind it.
"Hello, Y/N" Lucifer looked up from his papers as I entered the room, a small smile on his face, "please, sit down." He motioned to an arm chair in front of the desk, which I promptly took a seat on, dropping my bag to the floor next to me. I found it strange how Lucifer was being so accommodating, he was usually so engrossed with his work. He handed me a rather large folder filled with papers, documents and some photos too. "This is a pack that I have prepared alongside some of the other teachers with the most pertinent information to your, how should I put it... coronation. All of your teachers have a clear outline of what you need to learn and are fully prepared to help you get ready. There is a timetable of lessons and revision for the next month. You have photos of all areas of the devildom, you need to learn about the area and the people who live there. You have summarised versions of the laws and regulations in place here. There are some recommendations of books covering devildom history, and a few other documents covering your coronation process and other miscellaneous items."
I looked up at Lucifer dumbfounded. I knew there would be a lot to learn, but I had no clue how I could learn all of this and choose which brother I would marry, within a MONTH! "Of course I have also filled my brothers in on all of this," he continued, "and they have all been given different jobs and responsibilities for the next month in order to help you. I believe that is all, Y/N, do you have any questions?"
Yes. Yes I have lots of questions, but if I asked them we might be here for another year. I was terrified that I would fail, confused about how on earth I was going to learn all of this, and somewhat annoyed that it had all fallen to me.
"No, no questions." I replied, "thank you for preparing all of this, Lucifer."
"Alright, you should first head to the library. Satan will be there to help you chose which books you will start on. Good day, Y/N."
Lucifer looked back down at the papers in-front of him and continued his work where he left off, indicating that it was time I left. I grabbed my bag and the folder and headed to the library.

The library had always been my favourite room at RAD. Satan and I had spent many days and nights sitting in there, reading chatting and studying together. It was so cozy and the entire room smelled like books. I found him in our usual spot, the big comfy armchairs in the back corner, where no-one would disturb us. I tapped him on the shoulder, bringing his attention from his book up to me.
"Hey, Y/N. How'd the meeting go?"
I scowled at him, dropping the folder on his lap. "Owwww, oh my god, Y/N, that's so heavy, oh my god that hurt." Satan held his dick where I'd dropped the folder on it, clearly in pain.
"Oh my god, Satan, I'm sorry" I couldn't help but laugh at the sour look on his face. He scowled at me, the look of shear pain subsiding from his face. "Alright. Cool. Let's look through this, shall we?" Satan placed the folder on the coffee table and opened it. Inside was a contents page and we flicked to the section labelled 'books to read'.
"Right," Satan spoke up, "I think you should start with the history stuff because it'll give you a good background. I've already grabbed a few," Satan picked up a stack of 5 very thick, very old books and placed them on the table next to the folder, "right, I've also been through and put tags on the important pages. I've read these before so it didn't take long. Do you reckon you could read these by the end of the week?"
"All of them?" I looked up at Satan, shocked at his presumption. "I reckon I could probably read 3 of them?"
"Fine." He sounded slightly annoyed at my apparent lack of reading skills, he took two out of the pile and placed them back on a shelf round the corner. "Read these three in this order." He placed the books in my arms. "Feel free to ask me any questions, Y/N, you know I'm always here to help you."
I sighed as Satan placed the folder on top of the book stack in my arms, said goodbye and headed to my locker to put two of the books away and sort my bag. I looked at my timetable and saw that the rest of the day should be dedicated to reading. I love how Lucifer assumed my attention span could last that long. I placed the first book Satan told me to read in my bag and headed back towards the House of Lamentation to begin the book.

There were too many distractions in my room, my phone, TV, I'm sure I could even get distracted by the paintings on my walls, so I decided I would cozy myself up in Lucifer's library- a nice big armchair, my duvet and some hot tea sounded like the ideal conditions for reading.

I set up my vision and snuggled down opening the book. Oh dear god. The book started out like the Bible in the human realm, from the very beginning of the creation of the devildom. Great, I had loooong time to cover. Ugh, I thought to myself, here we go...

A/N - sorry this one's quite boring lol, more interesting chapters are on their way!
