Chapter 12

The next morning, after everyone was ready for the day, Christopher called a meeting of the brothers in his room. After all his brothers were gathered, Christopher called the meeting to order.

"Alright dudes, you are probably wondering why I called this meeting." Christopher started.

"Uh, yeah." Goldie agreed. "What's the big idea?"

"So, as you guys know, Dad and Mom appointed me as Elizabeth's guardian." Christopher told them. "Now, I know that this is a big responsibility that I am willing to bear, but I feel that I can't do this alone. I know that when Elizabeth first started living with us, we all said that we wanted to help her."

"Get to the point already, Chris!" Michael said irritably.

"Give me a second, bro!" Christopher retorted. "What I'm trying to say is that I want you guys to help me. I feel that the best way to help Elizabeth is to make her feel loved. Last night, she told me that she doesn't feel that she belongs here. I know that we all want to make her feel like she belongs here. So will you dudes help me? Please?"

The boys thought about what Christopher said. Yes, the know that their parents appointed Christopher to be Elizabeth's guardian. And yes, they knew that Christopher was taking this job very seriously. But they knew that Christopher brought up a very good point. They all wanted to help Elizabeth deal with her past.

"We're in!" The boys said in unison.

"Rockin." Christopher said with a smile. "Now, does anyone have any ideas?"

"What if we tried to spend more time with her?" Frederick suggested.

"Spending time with Elizabeth could very well ease her mind." Carter agreed.

"Okay, guys. Let's do this." Christopher said pumped.

"Yeah!" The boys say in unison.

"Guys! I hear Elizabeth!" Liam exclaims.

"Sweet! I'm going to see if she wants to practise sports with me!" Michael said excitedly. Michael quickly leaves the room, and jumps in front of Elizabeth, startling her.

"Hi, Mike. What's going on?" Elizabeth asked quietly.

"Nothing much." Michael answered. "I was wondering if you wanted to practice floor hockey with me." Michael then pulls out a hockey stick. But no one could've predicted what happened next. The minute Michael pulled out the hockey stick, Elizabeth's eyes widened and she began to shake with fear.

"Elizabeth? Are you okay?" Michael asked concerned.

"P-please. I-I'm sorry i-if I did something wrong." Elizabeth said trembling. "P-please. D-don't hurt me." Elizabeth's trembling attracted the attention of the rest of the boys who immediately rushed to the scene. The first thing they saw when they got out there was Elizabeth shaking in fear. Christopher immediately turned his attention to Michael.

"Michael! What did you do?" Christopher yelled.

"I didn't do anything!" Michael protested. "All I did was ask her if she wanted to play some floor hockey and all of a sudden she started freaking out."
