Hey there everybody. It's been a while. I know it's been a since I last updated, but sorry, kinda hard to update when you can't keep your eyes open. But now I'm back. Now last chapter we had part 2 on the Road to Recovery. Now, here is part 3. Last chapter we saw that Nightmare was going to be next. And I let you guys guess who the second character was. Well, I threw in a curveball. It was Mrs. Fritzgerald. Now enough talk! Chapter time!
To say that the ride to the movie theatre was awkward would be an understatement. But that's what it was. Nightmare didn't know what to say to Elizabeth. He never had to deal with someone like Elizabeth before. He looked over to the passenger seat in his car and looked at the eleven year old. The kid was so quiet. The whole ride, all she had done was stare out the window and say nothing. She had wished that Goldie had given him some advice on what to say to her or just something about Elizabeth period. But, what's done is done. He couldn't just turn around and take her home. The Afton boys would destroy him. And even worse, Goldie would dump him! That was the last thing he wanted. So despite how uncomfortable he was, he had to suck and do what he could to make this the best day of Elizabeth's life.
As Nightmare pulled into the parking lot, he noticed that Elizabeth looked a little nervous. Deciding to ignore it, he got out of the car with Elizabeth following a little more slowly. As the two walked towards the entrance of the theatre, Nightmare realized that Elizabeth had stopped walking and was staring at the theatre with wide eyes, nervous eyes. And this time, Nightmare was concerned.
"Hey kid, everything ok?" Nightmare asked. Elizabeth didn't answer right away. She just looked at the ground. "Is something wrong?" Elizabeth nodded. "Well what is it?"
"I'm not really all that good with crowds." Elizabeth answered quietly.
Nightmare gave her a look of understanding. Goldie had told him that Elizabeth had a little freak out last time they tried to take her to the movies. So they decided that for the time being, Elizabeth should stay home and not go to their activities. As Nightmare thought about it, he realized why Goldie wanted him to take Elizabeth to the movies. He wanted him to help Elizabeth get over her issue with crowds. While Nightmare was lost in his thoughts, he didn't notice that Elizabeth was starting to tremble a little. So he knew that he had to work smart with this.
"Hey kid. Relax. You have nothing to worry about." Nightmare told him. Elizabeth looked at him with a confused expression.
"What do you mean?" Elizabeth asked.
"Well, we don't have to wait in line for tickets because I already bought them." Nightmare explained. "The only line we really have to wait in is the one for snacks. Other than that we don't have to worry about getting caught in crowds." Elizabeth still looked a little nervous. So Nightmare tried something different. "How about this: why don't you stick close to me? Then you don't have to worry about crowds. How does that sound?" Elizabeth shrugged which Nightmare took as a yes.
Nightmare then wrapped his arm around Elizabeth's shoulders and led her into the theatre. As soon as they walked in, Elizabeth immediately moved closer to Nightmare. Nightmare quickly rubbed her hair which caused Elizabeth to look up. As soon as she looked up, Nightmare gave her a gentle smile which caused Elizabeth to relax a little. After Nightmare paid for the food, he led Elizabeth to the movie room to watch Building Robotics the movie.
After the movie was finished, Nightmare decided to take Elizabeth out for ice cream. After they bought the ice cream, Nightmare took Elizabeth to an area that looked over the city to eat the ice cream. The two sat on the hood of Nightmare's car eating the ice cream and looking out at the city.
