It had been a few hours since the attack. My burnt arm had been bandaged, just beginning to heal from the remnants of the bacta left in my system. My hands felt raw from scrubbing away dried blood.
I sent Tash to get some rest while I finished getting Leia settled and secure. She was wrapped up and placed under a vital dome. I stood at her side, grasping her limp hand and absolutely fuming now that I had slowed down. My mind was on Kylo Ren. The bastard who tried, and was very close to succeeding, to kill his own mother. Not that I should be surprised after what happened to Han. I was ready for him to invade my mind again, because I had plenty to say to him.
The sound of the door sliding open startled me, but it was only Poe. He came to stand by me, placing his hand over mine and the General's.
"We are having a meeting in the morning regarding the new command."
I honestly didn't give a shit about the meeting. My command was lying on a bed in front of me. "I'm glad they are waiting a little bit to do it. Everyone could use some sleep."
Poe shifted and wrapped an arm around my waist. "Including you, doc."
He was right. I was exhausted- mentally, physically and beyond emotionally. I nodded, leaning my head against him. "We can go rest. I have a monitor linked to the dome set up in my room in case there is a change." I placed Leia's hand at her side and turned to leave with my pilot. I moved on auto-pilot, not recalling the walk to my quarters. Not recalling slipping off my blood-stained clothes and standing in the hot shower as Poe washed the rest of the dried blood and ash from my sore body.
With a soft towel wrapped around me I fell ungracefully into the bed. Poe laid beside me, the towel around his waist catching the last of the water drops that slid down his tanned abdomen. He pulled me into his side and I placed my lips on his chest, too tired to lift my head.
I immediately started to drift to sleep, but the soft vibrations of his chest brought me back just enough to hear his deep voice against my hair.
"I love you."
I smiled, barely able to speak through my half-unconscious state. "And I love you," I managed to get out before drifting to sleep.
Everything was covered in bright orange flames. Over the sound of burning, twisting metal, I could hear the screaming of people aboard the ship. I couldn't see them- not past the wall of fire that was enclosing me.
"Sienna!"
Poe's voice floated through the dancing flames. It was raw, filled with pain. He continued to yell out for me.
"Poe hold on! Just hold on!"
Spinning in circles, I tried to find the weakest spot in the flames. I didn't think as I ran towards the wall, planning to jump through it, not caring about the pain it may cause me. The intense heat reached its peak as I went through the wall. Hitting the ground on the other side, I turned to see that the border of orange flames was no longer there.
I could still hear Poe yelling down the hall that was littered with burnt debris. Some of it was still smoking as I ran past, pushing my legs the hardest I could to get to him. He eventually came into sight and it was a nightmare.
He was being held against the wall by a jagged piece of metal protruding through his core. His scarlet blood flowed down his body freely, creating a puddle at his feet.
Tears stung my eyes as I saw him. "Poe, please hold on."
However, no matter how fast I ran, I couldn't get closer to him. The hall kept stretching on, unending.
