Kat waits for the stop light to turn red and wipes the tears away that are silently falling from her eyes. She turns up the music and of course 'Crying in the Car' by Meg the Stallion comes on her shuffle and the very relevant song makes Kat's tears stop mostly because she convinces herself this is absolutely nothing to cry over.
Her phone vibrates and she expects it to be Christian but its not... Its fucking Cody Bellinger. This mother fucker has to be physic. She shakes her head and rolls her eyes but reads it anyway.
You driving past the Waldorf?
Kat decides to humor herself and reply, Yeah headed out
Didn't you just get here?
It is a gray area deciding how much to let Cody, her ex boyfriend, in on: It was time for me to go 😂
Come pick me up before this pack of cougars mobs me
Kat pulls onto a side street and takes a few deep breaths weighing her options trying to decide what the best choice for everyone is. She opens her glove box hoping that smoking a quick bowl will help her decide. Christian's harsh words hit her hard and the tears start again... Has she really been that out of it since she started smoking again?
Fuck him. She thinks and slams her glove box closed and picks up her phone, I'm gonna drive by and throw the door open you gotta jump in while the car is moving.
Bet
Kat pulls to the side and Cody jogs up while making sure his loose ass pants didn't fall down.
"Hey," He greets a little out of breath.
Kat looks at him concerned, "Are you out of breath?"
"Bro, I don't workout like you and Yeli," Cody counters.
Kat purses her lips and rolls her eyes as she pulls away from the curb, "Yeah he doesn't workout like me either."
"Damn why so salty? You good?" Cody asks and then looks at her with a weird face, "Were you smoking in here?"
Kat gives him a pointed look, "YES! I was smoking damn why y'all so judgey today?"
Cody puts his hands up, "No judgement here I was just wondering if we could smoke. Damn you're on one."
Kat shakes her head and pulls off into a dark parking lot and starts to roll a blunt, "You want this fat?" She asks Cody who is watching her intently.
"I mean whatever you need," Cody shrugs and continues to watch her pack reroll the blunt and lick it so she can put it back together, "Alright what's up what did Christian do?"
"Why did he have to be the one to do something what if it was me who did something?" Kat counters and lights her blunt.
"Because he's way too scared to lose you. I'm pretty sure you could do anything and he'd be the one to say sorry," Cody shrugs and takes the blunt.
"You don't know that." Kat says.
Cody shrugs, "It was like that for me and we didn't last half as long as you two and you definitely treated me like shit and I still loved it. You're like lowkey toxic as fuck."
Kat snaps her head to look at Cody after that shady comment, "I am not toxic."
Cody raises his eyebrows at her in a challenge, "Yeah you are. You're hella selfish and you refuse to change anything about yourself, but you make sure you don't piss anyone off enough to not come back to you when you decide to hit their line again."
