"You can come in," a soft voice muttered from the other side of the door. Kirishima opened the door and smiled softly at Midoriya. Midoriya kept his sheets close to his face as he lay in bed on his side.
"I brought pork cutlet," Kirishima smiled, sitting down on Midoriya's bed. Midoriya sighed.
"Thanks, but I'm not hungry," he muttered. Kirishima frowned and patted Midoriya on the arm.
"Come on, you've only eaten once since you threw up. You need to eat. And drink some water man, you look real sickly," Kirishima requested. Midoriya looked up at his concerned friend and sighed. He sat up and took the box from Kirishima and tore apart the cheap wooden chopsticks. He took a couple bites of the cutlet bowl and set it to the side. Kirishima handed him a water bottle and he sipped on it.
Midoriya leaned back on his pillow and sighed. He glanced at the song playing on his phone. Kirishima looked over and shook his head.
"That'll only make you more sad," Kirishima said, changing the music from a sad playlist to a lo-fi playlist. "There, calm and not sad."
"I just want to be sad right now," Midoriya said. "I don't know what to do Kirishima."
Kirishima shifted closer to Midoriya and tilted his head. He sat and patiently waited to listen to whatever Midoriya wanted to tell him.
"I..." Midoriya said softly. "I feel like, or I know, there is something I should do. I know I should do it, but I just can't bring myself to. I should do it, I have to do it, but I can't. I still love him."
"What do you think you should do?" Kirishima asked. Midoriya shook his head.
"I can't say, or else I would essentially be doing it," Midoriya sighed.
"If you don't want to do something right now that's alright man. You are not in the headspace to force yourself to make hard decisions. But if you feel like you're not safe, then I say you do whatever keeps you safe. Do you feel safe?" Kirishima asked.
Midoriya paused. "I...I don't know," he said softly. "I think I am. I'm pretty sure I am, but there's always that uncertainty."
Kirishima nodded as silence flooded the air. Midoriya took another few bites of his cutlet bowl and a sip of water. Kirishima watched helplessly as Midoriya swayed between crying and bottling it up. Midoriya sighed. "How are things with you and Bakugou?"
Kirishima paused for a second. "Good, all is good," he said softly, looking down at his palms. Midoriya raised his eyebrow.
"It doesn't seem all good," he said softly. Kirishima battled in his head for a bit, trying to figure out how to word everything just right as not to upset Midoriya.
"Well, before I got here he and I had a uh, a disagreement about the situation at hand. I got frustrated and he said he would call me back when the both of us had calmed down," Kirishima said.
"What did he say?" Midoriya asked. Kirishima grimaced a little, thinking about the worst possible outcome.
"I'm not sure you want to know. I mean, I feel like it'll only upset you," Kirishima said. Midoriya shook his head.
"No. I want to hear it. I want to hear his thoughts," Midoriya declared.
"Alright, but uh, you know how Katsuki can be sometimes. He was also very vague about the whole situation, I think so he wouldn't tell me anything that you didn't want me to know. But he seemed to have a good grip on all that was happening. He said that Todoroki was kind of a wreck. He was depressed and had gone back to the cold shouldered person he was before he met you I guess. He kept recommending that the two of you sit down and talk things through so you could get a better understanding. But then we started arguing because he acknowledged that he was using you but kept insisting that it's more complicated than that. And then he admitted that he knew that he was using you from the very start and that got me quite upset and then we ended the call," Kirishima explained. He looked over at Midoriya, who seemed to be having gears turning in his head at a million miles per hour.
