Chapter 12

After getting changed, Todoroki shot Midoriya one more text before meeting Bakugou in the lounge.

Todoroki: Izuku please respond when you can. Please be alright

He met up with Bakugou in the lounge, who seemed to have calmed down minimally. He was still bitterly muttering under his breath. He saw Todoroki and scowled under his breath a little.

"You texted the damn nerd, right?" Bakugou asked. Todoroki nodded, brushing off his hostility as ramification of the situation. "Alright, let's go."

They walked out the front and immediately started racing each other to get to UA. They bumped into people and slid past others, both trying to outrun each other. After a good four minutes of nonstop sprinting they made it to the outskirts of UA. They stopped and caught their breath, looking for where they set up first aid. It was roughly an hour and a half after they had left UA from the mission. Todoroki pointed at the faint flashing of lights and the two sprinted.

The streets had minimal cars, and as they got closer they saw police, fire trucks, ambulances, and news cars. There was a small crowd that had formed outside the building that was attacked. The two Birds glanced at each other and sprinted up and squeezed their way through the crowd until they were blocked off by police fence and tape.

"Officer! Please! I need to see Izuku!" Todoroki shouted. The officer turned to him and shook his head.

"Sorry, only a select few people allowed in, only a few family members. We need to—"

"Officer please let me see him!" Todoroki shouted again. The officer put a hand over his holster and shook his head once more.

"I'm not letting you through. We need to do questioning and continue to check up on everyone. Wait like everyone else," the officer said sternly. Todoroki nodded his head, following Bakugou out of the crowd. They took a seat on the ground next to the side of the building, waiting to see their lovers after this mess they created.

They sat and talked when they saw a couple sprint towards the crowd just as they did. Todoroki's breath hitched as he watched the man run with a woman. A woman who had an uncanny resemblance to the girl Shigaraki killed. Todoroki glanced at Bakugou, who seems to have made the same connection.

The two made their way past the police tape, and were spoken to in a corner by an officer. The woman clung onto the man and wailed in anguish. Todoroki held a hand over his mouth and looked down. The woman screamed in misery and pain.

"We didn't stop him," Todoroki said quietly. Bakugou glanced at Todoroki and groaned, holding his forehead up with his palm.

"What could we have fucking done, really?" Bakugou muttered. "Dabi tried to subtly, but that didn't go over too well. We could've killed him, but All for One would've killed us and probably your brother too. If we flat out argued with him, he would've done it out of spite."

"I know, I just," Todoroki paused. "I don't like it. I don't know how much more I could take if I just let Shigaraki kill people like this."

Bakugou chuckled and rubbed his face. Todoroki turned in shock at his reaction. Todoroki gritted his teeth as he tried to form a sentence. "What part of this is fucking funny to you?" He spat.

Bakugou scoffed and turned to Todoroki. "Half n Half, you're a fucking dumbass if you think that chapped bastard is gonna continue to commit atrocities like that," Bakugou laughed.

After roughly half an hour of sitting and waiting, the ambulances and fire trucks drove away. The two got up and headed to the police officer. They waited urgently for him to say anything.
