Hidden rain

Chapter two- Secrets revealed

-Nobody's P.O.V-

(A/N as said in the previous chapter, there will be spoilers from book ten so if you have not read it, I do not recommend reading this chapter. Anyways, I'll actually write the story now XD)

"Don't worry your majesty, I'll protect you!" Crowed the black dragon, who then promptly sat on Aurora, smiling exuberantly.  

"Peacekeeper get off of her or so help me I will tell your mother!" The queen yelled at the new dragon. The Nightwing dragonets wings flopped down to his sides, and he had a crestfallen look on his face.

"I-I just wanted to help Queen Glory. Th-that's all." He slid off of Aurora, and she studied Peacekeeper as he moved and noticed with a jolt of surprise that instead of silver scales on the undersides of his wings, there were scales colored like the rainbow. Those are rainwing scales! She thought.

"You- you're- I- you! Peacekeeper tilted his head at her. "You're half rainwing!" 

"Yeeeeeees, that would appear so." Peacekeeper replied seemingly unfazed, which baffled Aurora. 

"Why aren't you in hiding?"

"umm because Queen Glory is nice to me and I like it here I guess. What's so bad about being a hybrid anyways?" Peacekeeper asked, folding his wings into his body and sitting on his back legs. 

"M-my father always told me that being a hybrid meant that nobody wanted you around. And that other dragons would kill you if they got the chance." Aurora was confused, had her father been lying to her this entire time?

"Why would your father say something like that? Didn't he love you and your sister!?" Peacemaker yelped, flinging his talons in the air. "And you two are icewings! Why is he saying this to you?"

"Actually, we're not just icewings." Aurora took a deep breath and shifted her hybrid scales from white to a cool blue and lavender. Plumeria reluctantly did the same, but with deep red and undertones of emerald green. Peacekeeper and Jambu inhaled sharply. A ripple of pale green and yellow flashed through Queen Glory's scales, the only sign that hinted any emotion from her.

"Jambu, get me Sunshade." The Queen said in a cool, smooth voice that gave away nothing. Jambu nodded and floated away through the trees.

"Pardon me your majesty, but why are there Nightwings hunting in your rainforest?" Plumeria asked, breaking the building silence. Queen Glory gave them a small smile.

"They live here. Ever since their home was destroyed by a volcano, they pledged their loyalty to me."

"Oh, I wasn't expecting that." The Queen nodded and turned her head to the sound of wingbeats growing closer. Jambu had returned, and there was a dragonet flying next to the older dragon. Aurora narrowed her eyes to get a better look at the newcomer, then they widened as wide as the moons. Her heart jumped and she felt like she had been struck by lightning.
