My Love Story

Prove It

(Emily's POV)

I was sitting in the cafeteria with my friends and River and his friends walk over. River sits next to me, Parker sits next to Jessica, Lincoln sits next to Daisy, and Joey sits next to Summer. Joey says, "So, Emily, I wanted to know if you wanted to go out with me?"

River was about to punch Joey. I say, "No, thank you."

River says, "Joey. Go. Now."

He says, "Why? It's not like she'll say yes to you."

I say, "Joey! Do you have a death wish?"

River reached across the table and punched him. Joey punched him back and they started fighting. I say, "Stop it! Joey, you shouldn't say things that aren't true. Go."

He gets up and walks out of the cafeteria. I help River up. 

(After school)

I walk out of the building and a hand goes over my mouth. The next thing I see is darkness. When I wake up, I'm chained to the floor. I look around and see I'm in a basement. I look up and see Joey and Lincoln there. They say, "Good. Your awake."

I say, "What are you doing? Where am I?"

Joey says, "You should know better than to say no to me. You will be mine. As for River and Parker, we'll let Parker be happy. River though, will pay for this."

I say, "No. Let him be."

He says, "I would've. If you said yes the first time. Now your decision will affect him."

I pull on the chains around my wrists. They don't do anything. Joey walks out but Lincoln stays. He says, "You know, I feel bad for you. Perfect little angel. She always gets what she wants. Not this time. This time, Joey does."

I say, "I'm sorry. I thought you were friends with River."

He says, "I was. Until he did that to Joey. He always gets what he wants too. He doesn't deserve it."

I say, "He didn't do anything. Joey was asking for it. What he said was wrong."

He said, "No. You're very pretty, you know that? I could make you mine."

I laugh and spit in his face. I say, "I'm not Joey's or yours. I'm no one's."

He gets angry and slaps me. He then walks out.

I cry and soon fall asleep.
