Gene watched as her oldest child sighed and closed the book, one that she had given her two days ago. She watched her daughter's face turned from a smile to annoyance as her younger siblings raced round, screaming. "How'd you like the book Georgia?" Gene spoke up causing her daughter to smile. All annoyance drained from her face, the excitement right back in its place. "Is that how you and dad actually met?"
Laughing slightly, the woman nodded before walking over to her grinning daughter. "Do you think I could have a story like that?" Georgia turned to her mother with the same eyes as her father. "You're twelve, George. In time, your fairytale will appear and it will be so magical and nothing will compare to it," Gene pulled her daughter into a hug as they both smiled. It was silent for a few seconds as they just relaxed 😌 not the embrace. "I'm sorry about grandma," Georgia stared at her mother who just shook her head with a faltering smile, "It's not your fault. You weren't even alive,"
A new voice joined the conversation as two giggles sounded throughout the room. "Do we not get a hug?" Ben asked and his wife rolled her eyes but smiled nonetheless. The seven year old twins, Bailey and Bronwyn, jump into their mother's arms as Ben walks over. He holds Georgia close as he smiles at Gene, who was laughing at a story that Bailey, their only son, was telling.
"Hey pops?" He looked at his daughter who stared back up at him. He see so much Gene in her and it genuinely scared him. "Yeah?" He responded as the girl held the book for him to see. "What did mom mean when she said it wasn't the end?" Ben smiled fondly at the book. He remembered having them written. He pointed at it before saying, "There's a couple more books of some of the most dangerous things we've ever done," his voice was as if it were normal. Georgia's eyes widened at the statement as she smile at the book.
"Can I read them?" She questioned excitedly and Ben nodded before turning to his two youngest. "Right say night to momma," both made noise of disagreement as Gene kissed their heads. Ben scooped both of the children up into his arms and carried them to their room. Georgia looked at her mother. "Pops said there was more books. What happens next?" Gene smiled and stood up in front of her daughter hands on hips. "Pirates," she shrugged and Georgia just squealed. Her eyes were wide and she fell back into the sofa. "You and dad have the best story ever! Even Grandma and Grandpa's story has nothing on yours," the mother and daughter hugged, smiles on both their faces.
And just like that she knew she had the best family ever.
