A Walk On The Beach

Justin’s POV

          I walked out onto the beach and started walking toward the water, as I got closer I saw someone down there staring out at the water. I stopped and saw long blonde hair and long tan legs. Maybe it was Jade? As we were getting closer my dog started running toward her. “Bella! No!” I yelled as she sprinted toward the girl. She quickly turned around after my scream to be greeted by my dog jumping up on her. I ran towards them and realized that it was Jade.

          “I’m so sorry, Bella down” I said as she was jumping on her. She laughed “It’s ok, I love dogs.” She said as she leaned down and pet her, as Bella licked her face. Lucky. Wait what slow down Bieber. She laughed as my dog continued to lick her excitedly. “Hi there sweetie” she talked to the dog. Hey honey I thought sarcastically. “Sorry I was just coming out to take her on a walk I don’t know what has got into her” I said to her. “It’s ok” she said standing up to look at me. “You can come… if you want” I said. She smiled at me then at the dog “Sure”

          We started walking down the beach as I looked down and noticed the tattoo on her shoulder. “Oh, nice tat” I said. She looked down at it then at mine “Same to you” she laughed as I had so many. “Haha thanks, is that your only one?” I asked. “Yeah.. you seemed to have gone all out” she joked. “Yeah theyre a little addicting” I said showing her my arms, flexing a little. “Show off much?” she laughed. “Jealous?” I smirked at her and she smiled looking back at the water.

          “So how does it compare to California?” I asked her as we stopped walking. “Nothing compares to Cali.” She stated. “Oh, cocky I see” “Just speaking the truth” she shrugged her shoulders. “So why did you move out here then?” I asked. She didn’t respond and just looked out at the water. After a while I said “It’s cool, you don’t have to tell me” I said raising my hands up. “Have you lived here your whole life?” she asked.

          “Well I was born in Canada.” I said as she looked at me weird. “You know, the country north of here, the maple leaf country” I said. “I know what it is” she laughed “we did you move down here?” She asked. I paused. “It’s ok, you don’t have to tell me” she said as she threw her hands in the air. I laughed as she made fun of me. “Well I moved to the states when I was young with my mom” I said. “I see”

          We both just sat in the sand and didn’t say much for a while, just gazed out to the water. I could tell she was thinking about a lot. “So, you wanna go see the town?” She looked at me and then got disappointed “I have to go help my dad unpack, don’t want to make him mad” she said. “Oh, ok well maybe another time” I said getting up off the sand. “Yeah” she said as she smiled at me, grabbed her bag and walked back up to her house. She was pretty cool and easy to talk to, even though she doesn’t talk about herself much. But I liked that she was a little secretive. She seemed different.

Jade’s POV

          I was sitting at the beach with Justin looking out at the water. I couldn’t help but think about being back home with my friends on the beach, and going home to a happy family. Although, it hasn’t been all that happy for a while. After my mom had gotten back involved with drugs a few years ago things haven’t been that easy. But I would still want her hear. It’s weird not having someone to talk to, even when she was strung out I could talk to her. She showed more emotion than my dad who just showed anger a lot. He didn’t support my mother’s drug use, but that’s a big way we got our money. Now I just wonder how we’re gonna manage with the small amount that we have, I guess I better look for a job.

          “So you wanna go see the town?” I heard Justin ask as he got me out of my thoughts. I was going to say yes, until I realized how long we’ve been out here. I wouldn’t want my dad getting angry. “I have to go help my dad unpack, don’t want to make him mad” I said disappointed. “Oh, ok well maybe another time” he said as he stood up. “Yeah” I said smiling back at him I grabbed my bag and walked back up to the house. He seemed bummed I couldn’t come, and it made me happy. He seemed to be interested in me and it’s cool I know someone before I go to school in a couple weeks.

          I walked back into my house to find my dad still unpacking. He seemed tired and stressed. He heard the door slam and looked back at me “Jade why have you been gone so long?” he said with a stern look on his face. “We need to unpack and I’m not going to be doing it all” he said upset. “Ok, I’m sorry dad, I didn’t know I was gone that long” I said honestly. “Just help me unpack so we can get this done.” He said pointing to the rest of the boxes. “Yes, sir”
