A whole day isn't complete without them arguing with each other.

Especially when again and again and again, Chan made big major decisions for his family without consulting his wife. And this time, Mina is mad.

"Chan, you can't decide this on your own! We're married last time I checked. How can you send our daughter abroad without consulting me first?!"

"Oh don't be so dramatic. Sujin also agreed with me, it's nice for her to experience the outside world, hey beside your parents live there, she's not going to be alone. It's a good chance for your parents as well that they could finally see their granddaughter once in a while. I already think about this thoroughly"

"But still, it's the fucking USA we're talking about! She'll be so far away from us. You're sending our daughter millions of miles away from us, Chan!"

"Quit working then!" Chan is half screaming to her.

Mina is speechless.

"Oh, you don't get to say that to me!"

"Think about it! You and I are very busy. I have always flown across the country and around the world all the time. You, being a lecturer yourself and choosing to teach everywhere, you gotta move around campus to campus, sometimes outside Seoul even. We can't ask our mother to look out for her all the time" Chan said it lightly.

Mina is smirking.

"Oh this is about it, right? Your mother constantly complains about taking care of Sujin!"

Chan just sighed.

"Yes, and it's about damn time, we give her some time to rest and enjoy her old days"

"We can just hire a nanny then, why are you being stubborn about hiring a nanny?"

"Like I said a thousand times to you, I don't trust a nanny! That's it Minari, I already settled things down, Sujin will be going to a boarding school in the states! That's it"

Mina is powerless when it comes to doing arguments with her husband.

"It's about time as well that your parents could watch our kid"

"YOU DON'T GET TO SAY THAT!"

"Minari, your parents would be thrilled that their one and only granddaughter will live close to them"

"AND HOW ARE WE OKAY WITH LIVING SEPARATELY WITH OUR DAUGHTER THEN?"

"Mina, I am tired of picking up fights with you. So I could only give you that option, quit working or you send our daughter to Seattle. That's it"

Chan then stormed off to the washroom.

Mina couldn't argue anymore.

It's been too many times, Chan asked her to quit her job.

For Mina, her work is the only thing that keeps her alive. Not that she didn't love her daughter, she always tried to be there for her daughter. Unlike Chan, Mina never goes to work on weekends, she made up times she's losing with her daughter.

Mina has been through a lot in her career. She was supposed to be an opera singer, but after experiencing major depression in her life, she damaged her vocal nodules and was unable to be an opera singer. She then switched her career to be a musical performance, being in the performance business made her keep thinking about the dream she gave up. She wanted to stay in the performance business but she can't move on with the thoughts of not being able to perform as an opera singer.

Mina then decided to quit performing, but instead, she wanted to go behind the curtain. She continued her studies in Vienna to be a professional teacher in Vocal. It was the best she can do, being one step away from performance business but still working closely in that industry.
