A piece of cake

*Flashback to those good memories*

Mina is an ambitious girl. 

She's a perfectionist. 

Before the first reading she feels that she needs to at least know the music flow well so that the reading would go smooth as well.

She practices more and more for it, she hears the guide whenever she goes. She read the story as well to convey the emotion. Mina got stressed easily if she couldn't channel emotion through the song. She booked the practice room for herself, to train harder and harder.

Chaeyoung just finished her Harmony and Counterpoint class. She's so tired. She walks through the hallway lazily. Dragging her feet, can't imagine that music education would be this tired. She keep walking on the hallway, s then stops in one room, she heart the sound from inside. She looks through the small window. She knows the figure, even from the back, she knows the figure. It's Mina.

Mina wears the headset and Chaeyoung could see the frustration in her gesture. Chaeyoung sneaks to the room slowly, she doesn't want to interrupt Mina's practice and she sits on the behind.

Mina starts to sing again. Mina's voice is like good music to Chaeyoung's ears. She always sings it beautifully. Chaeyoung closes her eyes and enjoys the beautiful tone.

Until Mina then stops and sighs to herself.

Chaeyoung opens her eyes, and sees Mina putting down her headset. She's tired of trying.

"Why can't I put emotion into this song, shit" Mina talked to herself.

"You did good Eonnie, seriously" Mina is shocked with the women behind her.

"Jesus, you startled me Chaeyoung-ah"

Chaeyoung then goes to her.

"I don't know, I can't concentrate to work on my emotions. I mean I know I can sing it, but there's no feeling in it. Really" Mina hung her headphone to the mic stand.

"Eonnie, please relax, don't push yourself. Come here"

Chaeyoung all of sudden grabs Mina's wrist and guides her to come to the piano. Chaeyoung sits behind the piano, opens it, and is ready to play.

"Forget about the play for a while. Let's just warm-up, okay?"

Mina is still shy when Chaeyoung takes her hand all of sudden.

"Let's take a break from opera, let's just sing. Let's sing something out" Chaeyoung then starts to play her piano.

"Do you know this song? This is my all-time favorite Broadway soundtrack, all their musical numbers are just perfect for me. And this is so sad, so try to channel your emotion with this song, Eonnie"

Mina is smiling, she knows all the musical numbers from that Broadway as well, she practiced a lot in high school.

"Is the key okay with you? Is it too low?"

Mina tries to hum first. "It's okay, I want to try it"

"Okay, let's just sing this. Try to be Eponine, Eonnie"

Chaeyoung then plays the song intro once again. With the right tempo this time. Chaeyoung looks at Mina, she's ready and takes a deep breath. Mina knows it is a very sad, popular and hard Broadway songs. The scene was so beautiful, Marius sends Eponine to deliver farewell letter to Cosette, while Eponine was also in love with Marius. But Eponine knew, there will be no place for her in Marius's heart 

The song started with a libretto. Mina starts singing.
