Sweet nothings

The morning comes. Sun is setting and they get into their room. Mina is awakened by the amount of lights that sting in her face. Chaeyoung is still asleep. Mina checks the time from her phone. It's 7 am. She got up and washed, and took the car key with her.

Last night they had a feast so Mina decided to return the favor, she's going to cook for the Jeon family. She asked Jeon Kwon's wife first the night before and asked about Chaeyoung's mother's diet and meal plan. She went to the market and bought groceries.

Mina then backs at the house and cooks immediately. The moment Chaeyoung's aunt gets up, she helps Mina in the kitchen. Mina thanked her for letting herself use the kitchen.

Mina is always a good cook, Sujin knows that much, she just has no time to do it. Mina made a warm abalone porridge for Chaeyoung's mom, and cooked other things for the rest of her family.

Chaeyoung's mom then gets up as well, and looks at Mina in the kitchen.

"Oh, Mrs. Jeon, good morning"

"Ya Mina-ssi, Sora said that you cooked since early in the morning. You're the guest here, we should be the one to feed you"

"That's not a problem Mrs. Jeon, it's Sunday, I used to get up early and cook something"

"So, since when did you know Chaeyoung?"

"I am her senior at the university, we attended the same club, Mrs. Jeon"

"Oh, you were living in the U.S as well?"

"Oh no, actually Chaeyoung majored in music before she went to the U.S for almost 1,5 years"

"Ah, where?"

"SNU, we went to SNU"

"Wow, I just knew that," Her mother said.

"Well, now I know that the talent must come from you, can't help but notice that you're a Tchaikovsky International Music Competition winner for 3 years in a row"

Chaeyoung's Mom laughs a bit.

"Well, that was in my heyday, do you major in music instruments as well?"

"No, I am in Vocal. I am a Vocal lecturer and a vocal trainer, worked for Chaeyoung's company"

"Ah, nice to know. Thank you, Mina-ssi for accompanying Chaeyoung here. Thank you so much"

Mina nods to her and she continues cooking.

Chaeyoung wakes up and gets to the kitchen.

"You're cooking?"

"Yes, almost done. Go sit on the table"

Chaeyoung sees her mom in the living room, facing the big window to the garden.

"Good morning, mother"

"Oh hey, Good morning to you too"

Mina smiles when she witnesses that moment.

"I never see Sujeong Eonnie smile that big the past 5 years, to be honest. I am thankful that Chaeyoung is here at least" Chaeyoung aunt whispers to Mina.

Mina smiles at her aunt.

Her uncle also gets up and they eat breakfast together. Chaeyoung's uncle and aunt have 2 sons, they both live in Seoul with their family. Ever since Chaeyoung's Mom got sick, her brother and her in-law took care of her.

Mina remembered that Chaeyoung once told her that she never eats with her family ever since her mom left her, and now she's eating with her whole family.
