The Guy Next Door | JJK × Reader

Inevitable

Y/N's P.O.V
I woke up late and had to rush to work for an important meeting.
I hadn't even eaten, my stomach growled in hunger as I entered the conference room.
Chloe, my boss sat at the head of the table.
I quickly grabbed the seat next to Lisa and the meeting commenced. 

After the meeting, I rushed home to tell Jungkook about the meeting.
As I walked past my old apartment which is currently rented by a young couple, it reminded me of the time when I bought it and then let Keira move in with me. And when Jungkook and Jimin moved in next door. 
Jimin happily moved out when Jungkook and I decided to live together, he is such a good friend. 

I walked in to find Jungkook sitting comfortably on the bed, watching some cartoons. He had a day off today so he woke up late.
"You're back early, how was the meeting?" He asked as he gestured me to sit on his lap.
"Well, I rushed home as soon as the meeting was over. There is a food festival in Australia where cuisines from all over the world are celebrated. Chloe wants me and Lisa to cover that. I'll be gone for a week." I said as I brushed his hair with my fingers. 
"Oh that sounds interesting, when is your flight?" He asked.
"Tonight" I replied.
"Well, I'll miss you." He said as he kissed the tip of my nose.
"I'll miss you more," I said as I pecked him on the lips. 
"What do you want for lunch?" I asked, getting up from his lap.
"Let's order pizza!" He said and proceeded to order it online.
"Good cause I'm starving and I don't even have the energy to stand," I said as I plopped next to him. 
He giggled and started massaging my back.
It felt so good, I was a moaning mess.
Back pain is like a constant thing for my body. I don't remember a time when my back didn't pain. Thanks to my bad posture!
After the pizza arrived, we both devoured it as we hadn't eaten anything. 
Food just tastes extra delicious when you're super hungry. 
I started packing for my trip, Jungkook helped me pack as he was good at packing. 
Soon it was time to leave. 
Jungkook offered to drop me at the airport but the office had already sent a car for me and Lisa.
I kissed him passionately in the elevator. As we reached the lobby, I could see a car standing in front of the entrance of the building. 
Jungkook gave my luggage to the driver.
"I love you" I said and pecked his lips. 
"I love you" He replied. "Be safe" He added. I opened the door and sat in the car.
Lisa waved at Jungkook, he waved back with a smile. 
"Text me when you land!" He yelled as the car started moving. 
"I will!" I yelled back as I waved at him. 

I was going abroad for the first time since Jungkook and I started dating. 
It felt different. Good, but different. 

The flight was delayed so we waited in the cafeteria at the airport.
"Good thing the flight is delayed, you can now tell me the details about your date with the mystery guy!" I said to Lisa.
"It was good but he hasn't called me yet. It's been like 3 days now. I'm so disappointed, that's why I didn't tell you much." she frowned.
"Yeah, I figured something was upsetting you so I didn't push to talk about it. I'm sure if he is the one, he'll call. Don't be sad." I said.
"You're right Y/N, I shouldn't let it affect me." She smiled.

We boarded our flight and next thing you know, we landed in Sydney, Australia. 
I texted Jungkook to let him know I reached. 

Jungkook's P.O.V
The house felt empty without Y/N, I started missing her from the moment she left. 
Looking forward to a busy day at work, I got ready and rushed downstairs as my car had arrived. 
Kwan stood next to the car, like a bodyguard. I should probably give him a raise, I thought to myself. 
"Good morning, Sir." He bowed his head.
"Good morning Kwan." I nodded with a smile.
We got in the car and he proceeded to tell me the agenda for the day. 
As the day went by, I got so busy, I forgot I was supposed to skype with Y/N. The time zones were making it really difficult to stay in touch.
I sent her a text apologizing, hoping she will understand. 
As soon as I kept my phone on the desk, Kwan rushed into my office. 
"Sir, Owen just made a deal with one of our former investors. I'm afraid he is at it again." He said with a sense of caution in his tone. 
"I knew he won't sit still. It's fine, as long as he doesn't attack me directly, which he never will, we don't have to worry." I reassured him. 
"How does he get investors despite his bad reputation?" Kwan asked, curiously.
"He's a master manipulator, Kwan." I replied. 
"Sir, do you think he will try to cause us trouble again?" Kwan asked.

"He will. That is inevitable. But I'm curious to see how. Last time he tried to manipulate Taehyung and based on how much I know about Owen, that's the best that he can ever do." I said followed by a slight chuckle.
