Birthday

Y/N's P.O.V

I sat in the bathtub, allowing the warm water to soak into my skin. The smell of lavender spread across the bathroom, bringing a sense of calmness.
It was my birthday today. I replayed my entire life, as much as I could remember, in my head.
My eyes started to tear as I remembered my parents. The most loving people in the world.
They passed away when I was 12, in a car accident. And since then, I lived with my aunt until I moved to Seoul when I turned 18.
It's the kinda pain you can never forget but over the years I have learned to accept the reality and know that they are always with me.
I smiled as I thought of the moments I shared with them.

As I got ready and walked out in the living room, I saw Jungkook holding a plate that contained a cute little chocolate cupcake with a cute candle on it.
I giggled at my "cupcake" holding a cupcake.
"Happy birthday baby." He said and I blew the candle.
He fed me the cupcake and pecked my lips.
"This is so adorable Jungkook." I said, licking the frosting off of my fingers.

The bell rang.
It was a courier delivery guy.
"Letter for Ms.Y/N." He said as he took out a parcel from his bag.
"Yes, that's me." I said.
"Sign here, please." He said.
I signed it and then he left.

"It's from my aunt." I said as I sat on the couch. "She usually calls me every week, why did she send a letter?" I questioned.
I opened the parcel, it contained a letter and a sealed envelope.
I read the letter out loud.

Dearest Y/N,
Very happy birthday to you, my dear. I miss you. I hope you will come to visit me soon. When your parents made me your godmother, I vowed to always be there for you and protect you. They both were the most amazing couple in the world, and you, my dear, are an exact replica of your mother.
After your parents passed away, the restaurant that they owned, had to be sold as no one in our family was willing to take control of it. I used some of that money for your education and I put the rest of it in a fixed deposit for your future. So now the time has come that I give you that money as you are wise enough to know how to use it. Also, I saw you and your boyfriend in the news. He seems nice. Do come to visit me whenever you come back to Daegu. Weekly calls don't make up for meeting you in person, sweetheart. Take care.

Love,
Your aunt.

I opened the sealed envelope and it contained a check with a large amount of money.
My eyes widened in shock, and so did Jungkook's even though he is used to seeing that number every day.

"You never told me your parents owned a restaurant?" Jungkook questioned, flashing his bunny teeth.
"Well, I didn't think it mattered since they're not here anymore." I said, and he frowned.
"Babe..." He came closer and hugged me.
"I'm fine, don't worry." I said, smiling.
"Where was this restaurant?" He asked.
"Back in Daegu. It was near my house. Quite successful, it was." I said.
"No wonder you cook so well babe, you've got chef's blood in your veins." He said, grinning widely.
I did the chef's kiss gesture and we both laughed.
"I would love to be able to open a restaurant and be a chef but like I'd have to go to culinary school for that." I said, forgetting that I was saying it out loud.
Jungkook looked at me, stunned.
Suddenly, he pounced upon me and hugged me.
"That is such an amazing idea. I'll fund the restaurant and then we could co-own it and then..." He said, excited. I cut him off.
"No, babe. That's sweet of you but I'm not even sure I want it, and besides, everyone will think I am with you because you are a restauranteur and I'm taking advantage of you. " I said as I looked down.
He grabbed my chin and made me look at him.
"It doesn't matter what people think. We share the same passion for food and there's nothing wrong if we want to share it with the world, together. Let me know when you are sure." He said as he kissed my forehead.

As the day went by, Jungkook's words kept ringing in my head.
I didn't want a grand party, so we just decided to invite everyone and order pizza.
I sat on the couch, talking to Lisa, when I saw Jungkook and Jimin bring over a huge cake with lots of candles on it.
"Be careful, it took hours for me to make it." Jin sternly warned them.
They placed the cake on the table in front of me.
I smiled from ear to ear.
There was so much love in the room, it was truly beautiful.
I blew out all the candles and cut the cake as everyone sang "Happy Birthday."
"Thank you guys." I said as I tried my best not to cry.
"This calls for a GROUP HUG!" Jimin yelled and we all hugged.
"Let's eat now." I said as we sat scattered across the living room, watching a comedy movie, eating a heavenly pizza.

The night was filled with love, laughter, friendship and most importantly, FOOD.
