Chloe was in History class bored out of her mind. The teacher was talking about making groups for their new assignment. She suddenly started paying attention when she heard the teacher mention her name in the same group as Beca.

"I want your report on my desk by next week Friday. No excuses." Mr Simmons said.

"What are we supposed to do again?" Chloe whispered to Aubrey who was also in her group.

"We have to look into ancient Egyptian and ancient Greek history then write a report on the differences, similarities and what we learn from it." Aubrey explained after rolling her eyes.

"So who's in our group?" Chloe sheepishly smiled.

"You, me and Beca." Aubrey sighed.

Chloe smiled before pulling Aubrey towards Beca. Chloe had the biggest smile on earth while the other two girls looked at her like she was crazy.

"So when do you guys want to get started on our report?" Chloe asked.

"We can start now. We can also get some work done during lunch." Aubrey suggested.

"I can't do lunch, I have something to do, but I'm free after school. We can meet at my house." Beca offered.

Aubrey and Chloe had no problem with it, so she gave them her address for them to meet her there.

At lunch Chloe couldn't wait for after school, she was restless and everyone could see it.

"Why are you so happy!?" Amy asked Chloe as she sat down at their table.

"Do I need a reason to be happy?" Chloe asked.

"We were put in the same group for our History class as Beca,  who invited us to her house after school. That's why she's so happy." Aubrey told Amy.

"Damn you have a huge crush on that girl, don't you? " Ashely asked.

"Can we please drop the matter?" Chloe blushed.

After school Chloe and Aubrey headed to Beca's house in Aubrey's car. The house was an average two storey with a beautiful yard. They got out the car and knocked on the door. They heard shuffling on the other side before the door was opened by Emily.

"Hi, Emily is Beca home?" Aubrey asked.

"Not at the moment, but she told me to let you in. She'll be back in five minutes or so." Emily said as she moved away from the door to let them in.

The house was beautiful on the inside. The walls had pictures of Beca and Emily along with different adults. They sat down and Emily gave them some juice.

"Are you and Beca related?" Aubrey asked.

"Technically we're not, but our parents have been best friends since they were both four, so we kinda grew up like sisters." Emily explained.

"So you've known Beca since you were young? I thought you moved here when you were 10." Aubrey raised an eyebrow.

"Every vacation and holiday including birthdays, we were together. Then I moved here five years ago." Emily smiled as she remembered her adventures with Beca.

"Wait, so you're a 15 year old highschool junior? Impressive." Aubrey smiled.

The door suddenly flew open and in came Beca holding a box full of metal and wires.

"Em I have the parts you need!" she yelled and Emily took the box then went upstairs.

"Please don't blow anything up!" Beca yelled.

"No promises!" Emily yelled back.

"So should we start with Egypt or Greece?" Beca asked the two girls who were sitting on the couch.

They did a lot of research for their report before they started goofing off, and having fun. Emily would occasionally come down stairs to join in on the fun.

They shared childhood memories, and joked about getting in trouble with their parents. Emily told a lot of Beca's embarrassing stories making Chloe and Aubrey laugh their butts off.

"Okay you can stop embarrassing me now." Beca frowned but she couldn't hide her smile for long. Soon enough she was laughing along with them.

Chloe couldn't keep her eyes off the girl. The way her eyes lit up as Emily kept telling stories made Chloe's heart melt. From all the stories Beca seemed like a big softy when it came to Emily, as if they really were sisters. Chloe couldn't believe how gentle Beca becomes with Emily considering how she acts around other people.

After they were done telling stories Aubrey and Chloe had to leave. After Aubrey dropped Chloe off at her house, Chloe got a text from an unknown number.

Unknown: Meet me at the oak tree in the park at 6:30 pm sharp.

Chloe: Who is this?

Unknown: You'll find out once you get to the tree.

Chloe looked at her phone curiously. She wanted to know who this unknown person was, but she wasn't familiar with the town. She wasn't about to risk it so she ignored the message.

She kept getting the same massage for almost an entire month until one night it changed.

Unknown: Look, my name is Leonardo Appleboum, and I'm a physician. I think you can help me stop these tremors.

Chloe: Why me?

Unknown: You're the only one who can get me your dad's security pass.

Chloe: Why do you need his security pass?

Unknown: I can't say. It would be too risky to text you my entire plan. I could even get arrested and get some people in danger.

Chloe: How do I know that I can trust  you?

Unknown: I don't know how to convince you, but you have to trust me either way.

Chloe: I'm sorry but I can't just trust you. What if you're a murderer or something........I can get you the security pass only if my dad can see these texts.

Unknown: I don't trust your father. He works for the enemy.

Chloe: Then no deal.

Unknown: Trust me little girl. Your father may be a hero now, but if I don't get that security pass he'll become one of the bad guys.

Chloe: You're lying. My dad will never be a bad guy.

Unknown: You're too naive. Are you helping me or not?

Chloe: Not.

Chloe blocked the number from her contacts. She wasn't about to fall for some scheme or whatever this is. She was smart enough to know that her dad would never be one of the bad guys.
