Everyone was getting extremely worried. Emily was still in the capsule and the light was still red. Two weeks was almost up and everyone was freaking out.

"She'll be okay Becs, don't worry so much." Chloe told the girl not really sure if she was talking to Beca or herself.

"I hope so." Beca said with her head on Chloe's lap. They were sitting in Chloe's living room trying to watch a movie.

Chloe's mom was at the grocery store while her dad was still busy with the town's clean up. Chloe still couldn't bring herself to talk to her dad like she used to. He was a murderer in her eyes now.

"Chloe?" Beca called and Chloe hummed in response.

"I don't think I can live with myself if she doesn't make it."

"Emily will make it Becs, don't worry about it. She's a fighter and you know it."

"I just don't wanna lose her Chlo. She's my baby sister and I was supposed to protect her." Beca let out a sob and Chloe gave her a hug. Beca sobbed quietly into Chloe's neck.

"It's okay Becs, it's not your fault." Chloe whispered in Beca's ear while stroking the girl's hair.

After about ten minutes Beca ended up falling asleep in Chloe's arms. Chloe put Beca's head back on her lap before she also fell asleep.

When Cindi walked  into the house she found the two girls in a peaceful sleep. She thought it would better not to wake them up. Two hours later Carlos walked into the house.

"Hello family." Carlos said with his arms wide open.

"Shh, they're asleep." Cindi pointed towards the couch where the two girls were asleep.

"Sorry, I didn't expect Chloe's girlfriend to still be here. Chloe always makes sure she's gone before I get back home."

"I know. I still don't understand why she doesn't want you to meet Beca. That girl is the best." Cindi smiled as she continued to make dinner.

"I think this is all this Beca girl's fault." Carlos sighed.

"What do you mean?" Cindi raised an eyebrow.

"Ever since Chloe started dating her, she's been distant. I think Beca is poisoning her mind."

"Are you insane? Since Chloe started dating Beca we've been closer than ever. I may not know Beca very well but I do know that she is a good person." Cindi smiled.

"Maybe she's just pretending to be a good person. Maybe she wants something." Carlos shrugged.

"You have truly lost your mind. What would a 17 year old girl want from us?" Cindi shook her head.

"You never know. People aren't always what they seem. Have you even met Beca's family?" Carlos asked.

"They've only been dating for a month. Of course I haven't met her family yet." Cindi shook her head once again.

Carlos was about to say something when he heard Chloe's phone ring.

"Hey........ Yeah she's with me........ Why?............. Are you sure?......... Yeah we'll be right there......... Hang in there Stace." Chloe put the phone down. "Beca wake up."

"Five more minutes." Beca mumbled.

"Beca this is serious, something's wrong with Emily." Beca suddenly sat up and looked at Chloe.

"What's wrong?" Cindi asked from the kitchen after hearing the panic in Chloe's voice.

"Our friend Emily's sick and she's having complications, so we have to go see her." Chloe explained while Beca got their jackets and her car keys.

"Okay sweetie, be careful on the road okay?" Cindi gave both the girls a hug before they left.

"I hope that poor girl gets better. It seems like Chloe and Beca really care for her." Cindi sighed.

Beca and Chloe rushed over to Benji's house. They ran to the base straight to Emily's capsule where everyone was standing.

"What happened?!" Beca asked.

"Her heart is failing and her breathing is fading." Dr Applebaum explained as he injected Emily.

"What can we do?" Beca asked.

"Nothing, just stand outside all of you. I need space to work."

Everyone complied and moved away from the capsule. They all went to sit either on the couch or on the floor.

After two hours of waiting Benji's grandfather finally called them in. Everyone looked at him expectantly.

"I couldn't save her. She.... She's gone."

"No...... Please she has to wake up." Stacie said with a tear slipping down her cheek.

"She fought as hard as she could but she had to let go. Fighting was getting impossible." Dr Applebaum explained.

Kathrine walked over to her daughter. Emily was pale and her smile was gone. The smile that she flashed everyday, the smile that always made Katherine's day. Her hands were cold and limp.

Stacie stood next to the woman. She moved some of Emily's hair from her pale face. Stacie smiled at how soft Emily's hair still was.

"She looks so peaceful, I've never seen her this peaceful since she was little." Kathrine smiled a sad smile.

Beca smiled as she remembered how hyperactive Emily was. It was like she could never sit still for even a minute. Although Beca always called it annoying, it was one of her favorite things about Emily.

"You guys can stay here as long as you want. I'll get you some chairs." Dr Applebaum offered and everyone nodded.

Everyone spent almost the entire night talking about Emily and what they did with her. Even Chloe, Aubrey and Stacie who hadn't known the girl for long had something to tell.

It felt like they all lost a part of themselves. Emily had a way of making everyone adore her without much effort. Everyone was either full on sobbing or trying to hide their pain but not very well.

Stacie's dad kept trying to call her but she would just ignore him. She couldn't help but feel like Emily's death was his fault. If he had just turned off the power, Emily would still be alive.

"You have to answer your phone at some point Stacie." Katherine said.

"I don't wanna talk to him today or anytime soon. This is all his fault, I can't just pretend I don't know what he did." Stacie frowned.

"He's still your father Stacie. You'll have to talk to him about this." Katherine urged.

"It's not like I can go up to him and say 'Hey dad I know you killed Volt who just so happens to be my girlfriend.'" Stacie sighed.

"Your dad still needs to know what's wrong. You don't have to use those exact words but you should say something to him."

Stacie sighed before nodding. She really didn't want to talk to her dad but she knew she had to do it sooner or later.
