(CHANYEOL’S POV)

I watch Allie’s white vans take her into the busy hallway where kids milled around, blabbering their mouths off on their way to second period. I really didn’t want to see her go, but I need to talk to Savannah. It’s already been a week since the party, and this was the only time I found pure privacy with her. Mr. Morse took a trip to the teacher’s lounge upstairs to make some copies off the printer there, so this was the perfect time.

“Savannah.” I roughly spin her around. From the look in her eyes, I can tell that she knows what this is about. Nevertheless, she bats her eyelashes and says, “Yes?”

“Don’t give me that. You know what I want to say. What the hell was that for? At the party.”

“But I never-”

“WHAT WAS IT FOR.”

She glares at me. “YOU KNOW WHY.” Her face changed into that face I saw when she broke down in front of me for the first time. It almost makes me want to sympathize with her, except for the fact that she locked Allie in a closet for half an hour.

Savannah then looks really mad. “I would slap you in the face right now. I would spread rumors about you. And I would do even worse things to Allie, purely out of jealousy and hatred.”

“But I know I can’t.” Her face turns back into being really sad and she looks away. “Because if I do, you’ll just drift even farther away from me.”

“I’m sorry to tell you this, but I have absolutely no interest in you. When you locked Allie in-”

“When I locked Allie in that linen closet, I was giving myself a chance with you.”

I know she feels bad about it. I know. But I also need to let her know that she won’t ever do that again.

“There was no chance in the first place. And there won’t ever even be a chance. Stay away from Allie and we won’t have any conflict. I don’t have you anywhere close to my heart, Savannah. I’m sorry but I need you to stop.”

Her eyes water up, and quickly picks up her binders and walks out of the classroom. I didn’t see her at lunch and she didn’t come to school for the next few days.
