⠀⠀The incandescent sun sunk low in the sky, a galleon of flame residing into a sea of green. The lurid sky began to drain of it's light blue hue, averting to a dark azure as the moon began to glimmer. The night remained tranquil, until a disgruntled cry of a female rippled through the zephyr.
"I told youーit's getting dark already!" A juvenile blonde uttered with a tone of annoyance. "...Ech! And now the bugs are out! Noisy, disgusting bugs that buzz around and crawl all over and bite you when-Agh! Won goph in mah mouph! Blech! Ptooey!" Lissa spat, giving us the impression that she had swallowed a few of the vile creatures. A small chuckled erupted from my right, a man with blue hair it's source.
"Aw, come on now, Lissa. Hardship builds character. Want to help me gather firewood?" Chrom inquired, beginning to walk away.

⠀⠀"Tpht! Tpht! Yeeeeeuck! ...I think I swallowed it... I'll pass on finding firewood, thanks. I think I've built QUITE enough character for one day!" The charismatic healer was now annoyed by the incessant bugs, which confused me. A chuckle escaped my lips. Now that I recalled, I couldn't remember when I had last had a meal, and my stomach reminded me too as it emitted a loud grumble. "We should probably think about food. I don't know about you, but I'm starving."

⠀⠀"Yes, I should think a little hunting and gathering is in order. Now, who wants to clear a campsite?" A man clad in heavy armor queried, a genuine smile upon his facade. Nobody answered.

⠀⠀After preparations were finished, Frederick had managed to find a bear, finishing it in one quick sweep of his lance. I ate in silenceーthe pangs of hunger finally arising in my stomachーalthough, Lissa complained quite conspicuously.

We decided to rest for the night, laying down upon out makeshift campsite. I can't say it was the most comfy of all places. The last thing etching my peripheral vision, was the image of my newly acquired comrades.
⠀⠀I awoke to a strange ambiance. The winds had become stagnant, and the only acquaintance I had with me was Frederick, which wasn't exactly a good thing. Perhaps he had set me up. Perhaps I'd been tricked! These thoughts rolled through my mind, my facade placid as I scrutinized my surroundings.
"Where are Chrom and Lissa?" I inquired, my voice grave. Frederick remained tranquil, replying to my question with the entity of calm. "I haven't a clue."

⠀⠀"What have you done to them?" I accused, my intuition telling me something terrible happened. His face averted to a shocked state, his eyes beginning to subtle. "Surely, you do not think it was I who caused their disappearance?"

Through narrowed eyes, he reciprocated with such malice, it sent a chill up my spine. "You. What have YOU done to them?" He interrogated, although his words lingered in the sultry air as a rumbling erupted from beneath us. We exchanged silent glances, imperatively dashing towards an eruption of lava.

⠀⠀In our race to discover the calamity that had enveloped the earth, we had deemed the prospect of each other negligible. The sultry air suffocated me, my breaths shallow. In the peripheral of my vision, I could vaguely make out the form of a man. He was fighting... Fighting what?
A vile creature for sureーcallous violet skin with gleaming crimson optics. It emanated a putrid gas, withering into the air. I was appalled, if not astonished. Chrom was dueling with these monsters, a blonde haired female cowering in the corner. No... It was not Chrom.

⠀⠀This man, was far shorter than Chrom, and his stature was slim, svelte. I mulled over this for moments, before beginning to rush forward. By then, the cryptic man had fled. Apparently, the man clad in heavy armor had also followed me, for his imperative voice rang loud and clear.
"Milord! Milady! Are you hurt?" Lissa emitted a shriek of delight.
"Frederick! Sapphyre!" By now, the forest had been set ablaze. By whom? That was quite unfathomable, although I do believe the erupting lava had some part. More monsters began to pervade the lands, sporadically withering into existence.
"Uhh... Are such horrific creatures commonplace in these lands?" I bellowed, unsheathing a lightening tome.
