Shawn Carter,

"Lori, do you wanna go to the hospital honey?" Marjorie asked.

I stood in the corner of her bedroom packing the baby bag. Everyone else was looking at Lori wormhole was obviously in pain. The only thing is it's way to early for the baby to be here. She should be here in about another month at least.

"Is she coming out, Mommy?" Shai asked.

We laughed.

She stood up and held her lower back.

"Let's just go to the hospital. I really think something is wrong cause it's too early." She said. "My due date is in a month."

"She's not really that early baby girl. You can be in labor. It's possible." She said. "I'm not trying to scare you, but she could be coming soon. It happens all the time."

"Alright, Shawn did you finish packing the bag?"

"Yeah, I think. Where's your stuff?" I asked.

"It's over there." She pointed to the duffel bag full of clothes and toiletries. "Let's go please!"

"Shawn, we're gonna go ahead. She's trying to get there." Her mother said.

"Okay, I'm right behind you." I told her.

She helped Lori into the truck, then drove off leaving me there with Shai and her aunts. I began putting the things in the car until I came face to face with Lorena and Lori's other two sister's.

"What Larena?" I asked.

"I guess you didn't think I heard your little conversation with your bitch the other night." She smirked. "I heard it all. Word for word. Don't fuck this up for yourself, Shawn. You know this baby is yours. If you ask for one, I promise I will tell Lori about what I heard. You better take care of your priorities, as you always say."

I clenched my jaws not even saying a word back.

"Get in the car, Shai."

She did. Then I got in and drove off as well.

Once we made it to the hospital, I grabbed the bags and followed Shai inside. We asked for Lori and they told us she was on the maternity floor on the fourth level.

"Press 4, Daddy?"

"Mhmm. Hurry!" I said as I saw her Aunts and then coming.

Thankfully, it closed before they could get in. Once it open, we approached the desk there.

"Hello, looking for Lori Harvey." I told the woman.

"Yes. She's down this hall, second door on the right." She pointed.

"Thank you!"

Shai approached the door and knocked softly before opening it. The doctor had already started an ultrasound on her. I placed the things down and took a seat by the door to look on. Shai climbed in my lap.

"I don't see anything wrong or out of the ordinary. It seems by the looks of it and by the things you've described that you're in labor. It may have been a misdiagnosis about how far along you were. It's rare, but it can happen. I know this may be a lot for you to digest at the moment, but you can relax. I am going to suggest that we put you in a room and induce you though. If we induce you, this baby will be out in matter hours. How does that sound?"

"It's a lot to take in, but it sounds good I guess."

"I completely understand, but we're gonna take good care of you, okay?" She asked.
