Alexis
I quickly unlocked my apartment door scrambling inside and stripping as fast as I could and jumped in the shower.

Once inside the shower I burst into a fresh set of tears. Seeing Micheal so intimate with someone else exposed all of my emotions and i hated it. I wish i had just pulled myself together and continue to enjoy my night with my friends instead of leaving Cam in an unfamiliar place with unfamiliar people.

I quickly pulled myself together and got out the shower checking my phone.

Tess💙: why you leave so soon

Mike❣️: Alexis can we please talk?

I sighed and called Cam.

"Girll are you good" she yelled into the phone.

"Is that Lex?" I heard Tess ask in the background.

"Yh. I'm gonna go outside to here her better." I waited a while to give her chance to leave the building.

"Whats up girl. I didn't even see when you left. You had me a little worried."

"I'm fine. Its just," I took a deep sigh. It really bothered me that this bothered me so much.

"Can we just talk when you get home?" I said.

"Are you sure your ok hun? Your not hurt or anything right?"

"No, no. I'm fine. I just wanna talk in person. Gather my thoughts better."

"Ok. Well we're leaving soon so do fall asleep before I get there."

I heard I knock on my door and my heart drop because I knew who it was.

"I won't. Ill talk to you later." I said hanging up. I grabbed my robe and stuffed my feet into some slides.

"Alexis please open the door." I heard Micheal said. I took a deep breath and tried to compress my emotions.

I opened the door and saw him standing there. Still in his clothes from the club reeking of sweat and rum, unlike his usual incising smell.

"Yes Micheal?"

"Alexis, I'm sorry."

"For what?"

"For being at that club. I shouldn't have been there."

"Why not? You're single. Thats what single men do. Shoots I was there wasn't I? You don't have to apologize."

"So why did you leave? And run away when I called your name."

"I was overwhelmed. I wasn't thinking straight."

"So why haven't you invited me inside Alexis."

"It's late. I'm about to head to bed anyway."

"Alexis, don't do this."

"Do what Micheal. What am I doing?"

"Please don't push me away. I don't wanna lose you. We were making so much progress."

"You can't lose something you never had." I said.

Just when he was about to answer Tess and the girls pulled up.

"Hey Mike what are you doing here?" Tess said greeting him.

"He was just leaving." I said. He looked at me to see if i truly meant it and I tried my hardest not to flinch. He sighed.

"Goodnight ladies" he said as he left.

"What was that about?" Lupita asked.

"Come inside." I said ushering them to the kitchen. I got a bottle of wine.

"You guys want any?"

"Ill take a glass." Lupita said.

"Can I just have water and some aspirin." Tess said

"You gat anything stronger than that?" Cam ask.

"Nope" I said taking done 3 wine glasses and a cup for Tess.

"I guess I'm having wine." I poured the wine and got Tess her water and aspirin and sat in front of them at my kitchen bar.

"So what happened?" Cam asked.

"Micheal was at the club. And he was with a stripper. And when I saw him I don't know my emotions took over and I just left. And he followed me here to apologize but I told him he didn't have a reason to apologize because he's single, he can do as he pleases." I stopped and took a sip of my drink. "But it still bothered me, seeing him with someone else. It woke something up in me."

"Hunny I think you caught feelings." Tess said.

I rest my head in my hands. "I know. And I hate it. But tonight was exactly what I needed. A wake up call. A man shouldn't be my focus right now. I have a big project for work, I'm helping my dad with the gym. I don't even have time to date."

"There's nothing wrong with having feelings. Micheal is a great guy and it's obvious he really cares about you. He just does dumb things sometimes. I don't thing you best option is to just ignore your feelings." Lupita said.

"Yh and the fact that he was actually trying to apologize says alot." Cam finally said. I was hoping she would see where I was coming from.

"He only apologized because I saw him there. If we had went to any other club and I hadn't seen him, he probably would have never even mentioned it."

"Or maybe he was apologizing because he realized even though you guys are not together his actions still affect you and wanted to apologize for hurting you." Cam said.

"First of all, Im not hurt. And what happen to "niggas ain't shit Cam. You suppose to be on my side." I said pouting.

"I am on your side. I wanna see you happy. You have your dream job living somewhere you have always wanted to live and now you have your dream guy. Sure he isn't perfect but no guy is. But he is trying. And this is the first time in a really long time that you mentioned a guy you genuinely have interest in and he makes you happy. Let him make you happy." She said touching my hand.

I rolled my eyes and fought a smile because I knew she was right.
